The Light of Love’s Compassion Brings us From Separation to Reconciliation, Torah Portion Vayigash

The scene of forgiveness and compassion

Demonstrates Joseph’s self-renunciation.

As Judah approaches Joseph in supplication,

Joseph extends his hand in reconciliation.

Joseph thus reclaims his identity

In Jacob and family, in sanctity.

The last bastion of his separation

Shatters through love to reunification.

No brother could be left behind, alone;

All fabric of family together is sewn.

Now that Joseph matured and had grown

In wisdom, he became a foundation stone.

The family became a nation in Goshen,

In recognition that all stems from devotion.
