The Lubavitcher Rebbe

His birthday is tonight on the 11th of Nisan. One hundred and twenty three years ago.

He married the previous Rebbe’s daughter on the 14th day of Kislev, 5689 – 1928, at a time when darkness was forming. The Nazis were gaining power, Stalin was consolidating power, an Arab pogrom hit Hebron.

The Rebbe taught goodness. He illuminated the world. His light pushed away darkness.

His emissaries continue his work. They bring light throughout the world.

I talked to the Rebbe. I wrote to him and often received answers. I studied his teachings. I was motivated by him to bring light to others, so I spoke to many Jews about the beauty of our heritage, and the importance of doing Mitzvot (G-d’s commandments) like putting on Tefillin, eating kosher, lighting candles before Shabbat and Jewish holidays. I spoke to many non-Jews about the seven Noahide laws that G-d told Moses, at Mount Sinai, to tell all nations. Adhering to these seven laws will bring peace to the world.

The Rebbe inspired, guided, and encouraged me and countless others.

He told Israel that they must not give away land, that it is dangerous to do so. Then October 7 happened, and everyone saw that the Rebbe was right.

We see many miracles these days, as Israel defeats numerous enemies.

The Rebbe’s profound influence is affecting the entire world. His wise words, recorded in books and on video, inspire and guide millions. He set an example of how one can work tirelessly to help others, and to make the world a dwelling place for G-d.

The Rebbe talked about Moshiach. He encouraged us to try our best to hasten the Redemption. The Rebbe uplifted us to accomplish what we never thought we could.

Perhaps, as we witness the many miracles that the Almighty is doing now to benefit the Jewish people and to bring peace and goodness to the entire world, perhaps the Redemption is so close.

May it happen now.
