Mort Laitner

The Ovens

I’m reading the New Republic and I learn that Herr Trump likes to make jokes about the “ovens.”

Why am I not surprised?

The article says that when the Donald hired a new German executive, he bragged how great the German guy was, so neat and clean. And then he looks at a couple of Jewish executives and says, “You better watch out for this guy, he sort of remembers the ovens,” and then he smiles.

Yes, Trump likes making jokes about the Nazi ovens and the gassing of Jewish people.

I, who have relatives that were cremated in those ovens, am not laughing.

How dare he joke about the one million men, women and children who were cremated in Auschwitz/Birkenau ovens after being gassed to death.

Does he find the extermination of Jewish children funny?

Yet some American Jews will vote for him.

And I am not laughing.

For one day, their children or their grandchildren or Hashem will ask them, “How could you vote for that anti-Semitic bastard?

And they will cry and beg for forgiveness.
