The pot calling the kettle black.

That is exactly what happens when people who claim to stand for Israel start spreading unverified information themselves.

Time To Stand Up For Israel has a clear mission written into its articles of association. Truth finding and debunking lies. Not chasing likes. Not feeding outrage. Not throwing half checked claims online because they sound dramatic. Truth comes first. Always.

Every post we publish is checked. Generally speaking, I can proudly say that out of more than 1,300 posts per year, perhaps five contain an error. When I notice an error, or when someone corrects me with facts, I delete the post or correct it. That is what responsible advocacy looks like.

But people can be cruel. They stay silent about the 1,295 correct posts, and then try to destroy your credibility over one mistake. That seems to be the humanity of today. And then people look surprised when I say I prefer animals over humans.

The truth is simple. Pro Israel advocacy is under attack from all sides. The Pallywood propaganda machine lies constantly. Their fake narratives are often polished, emotional, and sophisticated. They are designed to manipulate people before facts even enter the room. Sometimes they are so well constructed that even I briefly wonder whether I am standing on the right side of history.

Luckily, I know I am.

I read. I verify. I check. I speak with people inside Israel. I have a network of people I trust deeply, some of them with my life. That does not mean I blindly believe anything. It means I understand the responsibility of sharing information in a war of truth against lies.

Trust takes years to build and seconds to destroy. That is why factual information is not optional. It is essential.

Most people do not fact check. I saw that clearly when a message arrived in the company inbox of Time To Stand Up For Israel on LinkedIn. It came from a member of the infamous Rothschild family, ranting against Israel. I tried to explain. I tried to show facts. But he was already lost. Lost because of false, unverified information spread by Israel haters and the Pallywood propaganda machine.

This is exactly why pro Israel advocates must be better.

Everything we build together can be damaged by careless posts. One false claim. One exaggerated headline. One assumption presented as fact. One post made for likes instead of truth. That is enough to give our enemies ammunition.

A current example is the discussion about the Dutch government and a legislative proposal concerning a possible ban on products from Judea and Samaria and the Golan. There is not yet a final formal ruling. Voting is expected in September. The Israel Product Center from the CvI has already bought stock for about a year and wants to sell it before August 31st.

But what are people now saying?

Some claim it concerns all products from Israel. That is wrong. It concerns products from Judea and Samaria and the Golan.

Some claim the CvI cannot sell any products anymore. That is also wrong. It does not only concern CvI, and it does not mean all Israeli products are banned. Other Israeli products can still be sold.

Some claim there will be six years in prison if people do not follow the rule. That is not yet determined, because the legislative proposal still has to be voted on.

This is not a small detail. This matters.

When pro Israel voices spread half truths, we damage our own cause. When people refuse to correct themselves after receiving first hand information, they are not helping Israel. They are helping the enemy. They are making it easier for Israel haters to say, “Look, they spread lies too.”

That is unacceptable.

Being pro Israel does not mean sharing every dramatic post that appears online. It means standing for truth, even when the truth is less sensational. It means checking before posting. It means correcting when wrong. It means caring more about credibility than applause.

The enemies of Israel lie without shame. We must not become like them.

If we want to defeat propaganda, we cannot use propaganda ourselves. If we want to expose lies, we must not publish careless claims. If we want people to trust us, we must earn that trust every single day.

So check. Double check. Ask. Verify. Read the full story. Do not post only because something makes you angry. Do not post only because it will get likes. Post because it is true.

Because the last thing we need is to give our enemies the chance to say:

The pot calling the kettle black

About the Author
CEO of Time to Stand Up for Israel, a nonprofit organization with a powerful mission: to support Israel and amplify its voice around the world. With over 200,000 followers across various social media platforms, our community is united by a shared love for Israel and a deep commitment to her future. My journey as an advocate for Israel began early. When I was 11 years old, my father was deployed to the Middle East through his work with UNTSO. I had the unique experience of living in both Syria and Israel, and from a young age, I witnessed firsthand the contrast in cultures and realities. That experience shaped me profoundly. Returning to the Netherlands, I quickly became aware of the growing wave of anti-Israel sentiment — and I knew I had to speak out. Ever since, I’ve been a fierce and unapologetic supporter of Israel. I’m not religious, but my belief is clear and unwavering: Israel has the right to exist, and Israel has the duty to defend herself. My passion is rooted in truth, love, and justice. I’m a true Zionist at heart. From my first breath to my last, I will stand up for Israel.
