The Zionist’s Guide to the World Cup — Day 25

Okay, so the #9 ranked team in the Zionist’s Guide to the World Cup rankings (France) knocked off the #14 ranked team (Belgium).  So, what precisely is the sound of one hand clapping?

The Belgian squad was bearing all the hopes and expectations of their country with the full knowledge that it may be a long time before they are ever again so talented, so deep, and so much at the height of their powers.  They did not wilt under the pressure, but could not seem to break through the French defense (also an oxymoron, perhaps).

The Froggies will await the victor of tomorrow’s match between the #6 ranked English versus the #8 ranked Croatians.  There should be no question that England has become the default Zionist fave in the tournament.  If nothing else, an English victory will help Theresa May feel better about herself.  She’s had a tough week.  Has anybody seen my good friend Boris?

The English seem to have the momentum behind them, and the Croatians may be banged up physically and emotionally after two consecutive penalty kick victories.  The Croatians should not be discounted.  The squad boasts of wily veterans who have won numerous championships for their club teams.

Hopefully, there will be at least one forlorn Israeli fan occasionally waving his national flag in the crowd during the game.
