There Is No Other Country…
There is no other country in the world where people waiting for a bus are risking their lives. There is no other nation, in proportion to its population, that lost 1,200 civilians in a single day. Nowhere else do terrorists send suicide bombers specifically to target civilians. There is no other country the size of Israel that must defend itself every decade. There is no place where terror attacks occur almost daily. There is no other country in which over one hundred of its citizens are held hostage (equivalent to about 4,000 hostages in the US by population proportion). There is no place where the army is considered family. Nowhere else might you see women carrying machine guns in shopping malls. There is no other country the size of Israel surrounded by hostile neighbors.
Israel, though representing only 0.002% of the world population, influences over 60% of the world’s religions. There is no other nation that faces consistent criticism from the UN, regardless of what it does or does not do. And there is no other nation that lost a third of its population during World War II, nor one that has faced relentless brutality throughout history simply for being who they are.
Since the massacre on October 7, some countries have ignited a resurgence of antisemitism across the world, including in the US. It feels like the world is against us once again. Hamas, manipulated by Iran’s Mullahs, spent years planning the October massacre, fully aware of the inevitable retaliation it would provoke on all Gazans—yet they proceeded. It is Hamas that brought about Gaza’s destruction. With millions of dollars from Qatar, Hamas took funds meant for its people and spent them on tunnels leading nowhere.
It took us over two thousand years to reclaim our homeland, and we intend to keep it for generations to come.
