These days when Jews say ‘never again,’ antisemites know that they mean it
Used to be that ‘never again’ meant educating, talking, explaining, and so on.
But now ‘never again’ has taken on a whole new meaning. When Israel says ‘never again,’ Hamas and Hezbollah and Syria and the Iranian regime know that they mean it.
The Talmud says that if somebody comes to kill you, you should wake up early to kill them. And the Lubavitcher Rebbe noted, that it does not say that you should wake up early and kill them. Rather the expression is: you should wake up early to kill them .
And the Rebbe learns from this, that it’s not necessary to kill your enemy. You just need to mobilize, to show that you’re ready to attack, to show that you woke up early in order to kill them if they (the enemy) plan to attack. And that, the Rebbe says, is enough to scare the enemy and deter them from attacking.
And that’s what’s happening now. We’ve reached a point where Iran knows that if they attack Israel, then Israel will attack them thoroughly and effectively. And that’s why Iran is afraid to attack Israel.
Israel is also exacting justice against the perpetrators of October 7. Even though the Gaza Board of Peace and others are admonishing Israel and telling them not to do so, Israeli leaders declared that Israel will continue to eliminate terrorists who participated in the October 7 massacre.
Enemies of Israel have learned their lesson well. They realize that attacking Israel comes with a very severe price. And many are scared to attack because of this.
It used to be that Israel often was hesitant to attack or attacked very lightly. But no longer. Now everyone knows, that when it comes to Israel, it just doesn’t pay to start up.
Israel has a new attitude, standing up for its right to defend itself. The Almighty is watching over the Jewish people, as we see wondrous miracles.
The complete Redemption with Moshiach seems imminent. May we see it now.
