Torah teaches you how to manage life’s ups and downs

Your life constantly changes.

Sometimes things go well.
Sometimes things become difficult.

One day you feel confident and successful.

The next day you feel frustration,
disappointment and overwhelmed.

Many people live emotionally “up and down.”

When things go well, they feel elevated.

When things become difficult, they feel broken.

Torah teaches you to remain emotionally balanced during both successful and difficult times.

Rabbi Shmuel Birnbaum taught:

Train yourself to see that G-d does everything for your benefit with kindness.
When you live with this perspective, you no longer see life as random.
Even difficult moments are no longer viewed as meaningless punishments.

Instead, you realize:

G-d is guiding you with wisdom and compassion.

This changes the way you experience setbacks.

Instead of immediately panicking, becoming angry, or falling apart emotionally,
ask yourself:

“What is G-d teaching me from this situation?”

A person who lives with Emunah (faith) is not emotionally destroyed
when life becomes difficult.

Torah also protects you during your success.
When things go well, people often become arrogant.

They begin feeling:

“My strength and my talents create everything.”

Torah reminds a person:

Your blessings are gifts from HaShem.

Your health.
Your family.
Your livelihood.
Your abilities.

Everything is from G-d.

This gives you emotional balance.

You no longer become overly broken during failure or
overly arrogant during success.

You learn to live with steadiness.

The world today constantly pulls you towards emotional extremes.

One piece of bad news ruins your entire day.
One disappointment causes you despair,

While your successes make you feel invincible.

Torah teaches you to live a calmer life.
It teaches you to see life through Emunah.

You trust that G-d is with you during both the easy moments and the difficult ones.
