Toronto has a storm

The snow glistens softly. It drops down gently; sometimes the wind blows, and the cold is harsh…but not if you’re inside.

The home is warm. Through the window, in the night, the snow is white, friendly. It covers the ground, and the roofs. It stands alone, testament to a Power we don’t always understand.

Israel is our home. Jewishness our abode. When we insulate within its warmth, then the outside cold and harshness becomes soft and white.

Because ultimately, even when we don’t understand it all, G-d does.

Soon the snow will melt, the birds return, and the blossoms sprout. Soon the outside world will be warm, and we will bask in its warmth and comfort.

Soon Moshiach will come. The cold and harshness will disappear. Soon we will reunite in the warmth and glow of His presence, comforted by the generations of those who died as Jews, and rebloom. And our world will be filled with His light and warmth forever.
