Twelve days of a Syrian winter

The Arab Spring brought civil war and bloodshed to Syria. Twelve winter days have now brought new hope for renewal.

Winter is when trees are bare and climates are cold. But winter is just before spring, when trees renew and blossom again.

Darkness is temporary. Even darkness has a purpose, preparing for the rejuvenation that follows.

The day begins with darkness, the light and warmth of the sun are below the horizon. And then comes sunrise, a bright new day.

These 12 days in Syria have given humanity hope for better days ahead, for peace and tranquility.

We still don’t know for sure what will happen, whether the rebels’ promises of moderation and peaceful coexistence will transpire. But there is hope. There is a feeling of optimism.

In the cold dark winter, a light is beginning to shine.

The miraculous light of the Redemption with Moshiach seems imminent.
