Two Jews Walk Into A Bar
You know I love a good joke, just not today—not when Jew-hatred is spilling into the streets and flooding social media feeds like it’s the new normal. Well, it’s not funny.
What’s also no joke is how deeply my fellow member of the tribe, Zach Silverman, and I care about America, Jews, and Israel—in no particular order. I refuse to prioritize these three pillars of my personhood anymore. Not now, when they’re equally urgent.
Lest we forget—I Won’t Be Silent. Ever.
Cut to: In this episode, Zach—a seasoned political & non profit fundraiser—and I talk about where we are in this post–October 7 reality—and why I’m running for the World Zionist Congress with The Jewish Future slate. For me, this isn’t politics. It’s personal.
Somehow, antisemitism has been rebranded and re-normalized. The word Zionist is being bandied about the way white supremacists weaponized the “N-word” against people of color—with impunity. What’s smart is how the Black community reclaimed the term and took the power out of it.
[SIDEBAR] Kinda like when Glenda the Good Witch smacked down the Wicked Witch of the West: “You have no power here.”
Therefore, hear ye, hear ye: I hereby proclaim, “Zionist is not a slur”—because it comes from a beautiful place.
It is our legacy. Our homeland. The land of Zion, of Judea, of Abraham—the father of multitudes. The first Jew—you’re welcome.
So go ahead—call me a Zionist. Thank you.

About the World Zionist Congress:
- In a nutshell, the WZC is the global Jewish parliament that determines how major funding is allocated to support Jewish life in Israel and around the world.
- It’s basically the political voice of the Jewish people worldwide, and voting in it is a chance to have a say in how that voice is used.
- It was founded in 1897 by Theodor Herzl and meets every five years to shape policies on issues like education, community development, and the future of Zionism.
- Delegates are elected from Jewish communities worldwide, making it one of the most democratic Jewish institutions.
