Unity and Wisdom: Israel’s Journey to Harmony

My anniversary present to the State of Israel commemorating its 75th Anniversary.
My anniversary present to the State of Israel commemorating its 75th Anniversary.

In the land of ancient lore,

Seventy-five years and more,

Israel stands, a beacon bright,

Of faith and culture in the night.

A tapestry of values old,

Tikkun Olam, Tzedakah bold,

Chesed, justice, they unfold,

In stories of the prophets told.

In this land of diverse creed,

Jewish life, like scattered seed,

Religious, secular, entwined,

A balance intricate to find.

External threats and tensions deep,

Yet in their hearts, the teachings keep,

Hebrew prophets, wise and true,

Guide the way to paths anew.

“Execute ye justice,” said,

Jeremiah to the hearts he led,

Protect the weak, avoid the strife,

Embrace the Torah way of life.

Isaiah’s words of kindness share,

To clothe the naked, feed despair,

Undo the chains of wickedness,

In acts of love and selflessness.

Amos’ message, clear and bright,

“Seek good and not evil” in our fight,

Hate the darkness, love the good,

Establish justice where we stood.

In times of threat, the “rodef” law,

Protects the lives with sacred awe,

“If one comes to kill, defend,”

The Talmud teaches to the end.

The prophets’ wisdom guides the way,

For peace and unity, we pray,

In Israel’s anniversary glow,

Let righteousness and justice grow.

Through struggle and complexity,

Embrace the ancient prophecy,

For in the years that lie ahead,

A brighter, unified path we tread.

About the Author
Mark Baranov, that’s me, openly share my thoughts, feelings and stories as well as commentary on society, relationships and the world around me All thoughts are real and are subject to frequent re-assessment and introspection. All feelings are genuine and raw. All stories are fictional in a real way. All observations come from a place of love even if my language fails to communicate it. This is a blog written by me and for me, but I have published it so that others can either have a voyeuristic delight or something which I have written may resonate and inspire others to think, outside their holding pattern. GOD has granted us this life, to live, to connect and to empower others to do so. So open a post to laugh at my incompetence in prose and just maybe you’ll continue reading because we are not that different.
