The worst sin is desecration of G^d’s Name and they’re good at it
Something is stinking in the US bastion of Modern Orthodox Judaism. (So inferior to the delightful way [click link!] British Orthodoxy does this!)
And now also, lawmakers have started to oppose it—good for them.
And just now, another US school had the gall to fire a closeted transgender woman who, then, was pushed out of shul! How do these people live with themselves, sleep at night, and expect to be let into the Afterlife at all?
Again, the Talmudic wisdom is confirmed that every sin is done in an atmosphere of folly. To think for one second would prevent this craziness.
These US Rabbis, different from rank-and-file US Jews, strongly resemble fundamentalist preachers, which—for a Jew—is a sin in itself.
Yet, the worst sin is probably not protecting the societally vulnerable.
Being cruel is a character trait that brings into question one’s Jewishness or one’s diet since all kosher-eating Jews are supposed to be kind.
These learned but unwise Rabbis obviously can’t be saved. Their hearts are hardened. It would be foolish to wait for them to turn humane and Jewish.
What must be done, though, is to stand with the attacked, persecuted, the downtrodden and despised, and the weak against bigotry and callousness.
And the oppressed should choose life. G^d wants you to have a good life. It doesn’t always need to be comfortable or easy, but it should be good.
