We Need Peace

Clashes 

Of thoughts,

Hearts

And souls.

Sometimes you get blocked.

Sometimes you get shouted at.

Sometimes you want to disappear.

Sometimes it just hurts.

Last night I spoke to a dear friend.

I love him deeply

And so does he,

And this is exactly why terror cannot be.

We need peace.

Peace with “enemies”.

Peace with family.

Peace with friends.

Peace with our inner selves.

We need peace

Even if that might mean

To reconsider 

Our deeper way. 

How to defeat Jihadist I don’t know.

But what I know 

Is that we all need to stop 

Playing their game.

War is horrible. 

It is soul breaking. 

We feel the pain

As our body is shaking.

Children dying 

Is not the answer.

Let Jihad flourish

Is also not the damper. 

In my stupid little self

I can write a column

Or a poem

To fight my way. 

At the same time I thank the people

Who can combat to save my rights

Who can die protecting freedom

Who can stand for common love.

We feel the pain of 

All the innocent 

And children

Anywhere. 

It is too much.

Not just Palestine 

Or Israel 

Or Syria 

Or Ukraine.

We have had enough.

We have had enough 

Of all the extremism

That is only crashing

Our sweet humanity.

Be it religious, 

political, 

Power-led,

We have had enough. 

We have had enough of the Jihads.

We have had enough of Hate for Race.

We have had enough of Israeli settlers.

We have had enough of launching bombs.

We need Peace.

And we need a pause

To think

To just reflect

Of what can be.

Hamas : Free the Hostages!

Israel : Pause the Fire!

UN : Do your Job!

As for us: Just build Love!

We are feeling shocked. 

We are feeling helpless.

We are feeling empty.

We are feeling crushed.

We are feeling angry.

We are feeling dirty.

We are feeling crazy.

We are feeling mad. 

We need to stop extremism

and stop closing our eyes.

We need to stop civilians

dying on any side.

I deeply hate Hamas

I can admit that. 

I do stand with Israel

But there are also many faults.

Free Palestine of Hamas.

Let’s have a 2 State dream.

Let’s stop fighting the past,

So that the future can start.

I love my dearest friend,

With whom 

I can openly 

And safely disagree.

And we now 

All need to stand together

And say that

We Need Peace.
