We Will Never Give Up Our Hope In Hope

(Reflections on the Last Four of the Seven Haftorahs of Consolation Before the New Year)

(Isaiah 51:12 -52:12; 54:1-10; 60:1-22; 61:10-63:9)

Despite all the trials and tribulations,

We will never give up our hope in hope.

That is the very secret of survival;

No one but God Himself can console us.

Neither the forefathers, nor the prophets

Could bring us to withstand the tragedies.

This seven-week period of consolation

Brought comfort, as God would not abandon us.

Aspirations visualized throughout

Were lived, anticipated, within ourselves,

Knowing that promises given would be kept.

The children of today are the guarantors

For tomorrow’s future generations,

Realized through the Eternal Covenant.
