Where are the Ceramic vests for all of our combat IDF troops?

The national spirit is at an all time high.  We all realize that we are fighting a war against absolute evil that threatens not only our tiny Jewish state, but the whole free world.  There will be MANY questions asked after our ultimate victory, and together we will be victorious.  Not only will questions be asked about our civilian and military leadership, reliance on static defenses with very few troops, the response time, and the COLOSSAL intelligence failure, but also about the level of IDF preparedness for war.

If one does not learn from history one is destined to repeat the same mistakes.  After every war the IDF and government need to analyze it and figure out how to improve for the future.  Fifty years ago, preceding the Yom Kippur War, there was a sense of hubris in the “Conception” and a reliance on static defenses (The Bar Lev Line) and very few troops, in addition to a massive failure of intelligence.  Seventeen years ago, during the Second Lebanon War (which I also participated in) there was an unbelievable lack of equipment for the fighting units on the ground and an over-reliance on air power alone.  It is quite unbelievable THAT WE SEEMED TO HAVE LEARNED NOTHING.

In both wars it was the fighting spirit, unity, and motivation of the soldiers, together with the support of our wonderful people, that helped to enable our ultimate victory against the aggression of those who would like nothing more than to finish Hitler’s job.  Fighting spirit, civilian support, and a sense of justice alone are not enough to win wars.  We also need the correct equipment!

Whilst, having witnessed it first-hand, we do have a mighty, highly motivated, and well-equipped army, air force and navy, but there are still certain front-line combat ground forces, including my unit, that are missing, unbelievably, vital, and potentially life-saving equipment.  I am taking what very little down time I have from my front-line unit to try and procure what we should have, but don’t.  What we need desperately are enough ceramic vests for our unit, as there should be for all units going into combat.

  1. I am delighted that so many millions of dollars are being raised for the IDF in our hour of need. It’s great to see all the stars and everyday folk, supporting our troops, and yes, we are getting a lot of food, toiletries and love.
  2. I would like to know why CERAMIC VESTS that are desperately needed by front line units on the border, including my unit, are not getting to us.
  3. I am an IDF combat medic who is serving right now next to Gaza, and I can tell you that these vests are the difference between life and death.
  4. THE BRAVEST OF THE BRAVE ARE ABOUT TO ENTER A COMBAT ZONE TO FIGHT AGAINST PURE EVIL THAT THREATENS BOTH US AND THE ENTIRE CIVILIZED WORLD. IT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE THAT WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH CERAMIC VESTS TO PROTECT THEM. I DON’T KNOW WHERE THE FUNDS BEING RAISED, OR STATE FUNDS ARE GOING, BUT WE NEED THESE VESTS YESTERDAY!

Together we will be victorious.  Am Yisrael Chai!
