Why I Will Not Stay Silent

Since October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched the deadliest terrorist attack against Israel in decades, I made a clear decision both as an Israeli citizen and a business owner: I publicly declared that Ezra Home Care stands with Israel and condemns Hamas and its supporters.

That statement remains on my company’s website today.

In recent months, a job applicant and even some referral sources have asked me to remove it. Some warned it might cost us business. And yes, it has. But I will not take it down.

This is not politics. It’s a moral stand.

I founded Ezra Home Care nearly two decades ago to provide compassionate care to families across Greater Boston. Our mission has always been rooted in dignity, courage, and community. Those same values compel me to speak up now.

I refuse to stay silent while civilians are massacred and the world turns a blind eye—or worse, blames the victims. Israel is defending its people, Jews and non-Jews alike, from a terrorist group committed to their destruction.

I also organized fundraising efforts to help Israel defend itself. Many friends and colleagues—Jewish and non-Jewish, from both the US and Israel—stood with me and offered their support. Their solidarity has been a source of strength.

I understand that taking a stand can come with consequences. Some prospective clients and referral partners have chosen to look elsewhere. That is their right.

But it is also my right—and my responsibility—to speak the truth.

I am not trying to be everything for everybody. Ezra Home Care will continue to serve all families, regardless of religion or politics, with the highest level of care and compassion. But I will not compromise my integrity to win or keep business.

For those asking when I’ll remove my statement:

I will remove it when Hamas and its backers are defeated and can no longer threaten innocent lives.

To the many clients, caregivers, and friends who have supported me and Ezra Home Care during this time—thank you. Your trust and solidarity mean more than words can express.
