Yes, Fully Human
What if you were always
only meant to be human.
What if your existence
comes with flaws and imperfections.
Maybe should and must
will bring you face to face with the dust.
Maybe entering the arena
won’t guarantee you’ll be a winner.
What’s wrong with being ordinary,
is superhuman superior?
If you don’t meet your expectations
does that mean you’re inferior?
What if you try to accept
that your past,
present and future,
have room for your mistakes.
Show me someone who never blew it,
who doesn’t misstep, or fall on their face.
Who said to be human
means not making a mistake?
Can you be patient with yourself,
respect your pace?
Recognize learning experiences,
reframe your mistakes?
You’re not just only, but fully human.
