Yom Kippur

“Futurist” Kaparot Erev Yom Kippur

mixed materials on canvas 30″ x 40″ (76 x 102 cm)

It is an ancient custom the night before Yom Kippur
to pass a rooster three times over one’s head
as a surrogate sacrifice.

During this ceremony we should
envision that what is being done to the
to the rooster should have been done to us
and with God’s Grace we are
exonerated on Day of Judgement.
