A better deal a fantasy according to Kerry ?
I am baffled that senator Kerry as the Secretary of State for the USA could tell president Netanyahu that a better deal is a fantasy according to him. I have read the agreement of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action — JCPA in the document — and on the surface it looks fantastic except for two caveats when you read it further :
a ) Point VI expects Iran to adhere and respect a “commitment to the purpose and principles of the United Nations”. If it has not done this in the past, how do you expect them to do it now and in the future? This is wishful thinking coming from the USA and the signatories of the treaty who should know by now what a regime Iran is. We all now well how on the 18th July 1994, Iranian agents executed a mass murder and terrorism act at the Mutual Israelita Argentina murdering 85 people and injuring 300, the largest terrorist attack on Jews since World War – may they be of blessed memory.! We all now well how Iran sponsors and murders opposition members abroad as well as targeting Jewish people abroad, so I don’t know how the EU, the USA and other superpowers could sign an agreement with a de facto terrorost regime who likes to charm others but which is pure evil inside. In other words a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
b ) There are provisions that Iran – at least on paper – will not use its main nuclear facilities Arak and Natanz – to build nuclear bombs and that it will not seek ” nuclear explosive devices ” ( point 16 ) but as well all know again these are just words and I am sure they will not translate into deeds which, as the saying goes, speak louder than words.
But there is one thing about the deal which is irritating and has precedents in other nations not so long ago: Iran has got away – literally and metaphorically speaking with murder ! The agreement could have been signed with other prerequisites or conditions such as abandoning terrorism or the sponsorship thereof, stop the regime’s support for terrorist groups such as Hamas or Hezbollah or starting democratic reforms to go into a fully and truly democratic transition. But surprise surprise none of this emerged ! There are precedents of harsher conditions on nuclear nations such as when the USSR was forced by the then Republican administration under president Reagan not only to abandon and destroy part of its nuclear arms but also to respect countries going their own way out of the then Soviet Union’s claws. And boy did it not happen that a nuclear power was stopped and democracy came to the Eastern bloc ! So why did the USA or its allies did not ask for more? So, frankly, Mr Kerry a better deal IS NOT fantasy. It could have been better as president Netanyahu stated in the House of Representatives a few months ago.
I fear this treaty has been done betraying Israel and just seeking scoring points. Perhaps there is some backdoor deal in exchange for Iran fighting the Islamic State Sunni terrorists but John Kerry has betrayed America, Israel and the Middle East. He has been warned times and times by Israeli intelligence, president Netanyahu and many congressmen that the deal is bad. Perhaps Obama and his administration are naive, dumb, arrogant or all of them but this deal is not going to work with a theocratic regime intent on dominating other Sunni Arab nations, bent on hatred to the West and democracy and bent on destroying Israel for no reason other than pure racism and hatred. This deal is failed from now on. I wish I were wrong but time will say I am right.
