‘A person cannot be forgiven by G-d until…’
“A person cannot be forgiven by G-d until he is forgiven by people.” Those who initiated and carried out acts of death that were brutal in their essence and form on October 7 on the border of Gaza and Israel will never be forgiven by people, and accordingly, they will never be understood and accepted by G-d.
According to a number of experts, Israeli authorities missed the very moment to respond and stop the attack. That the reaction was untimely and not prompt enough. One of the reasons why this could happen, as seems to me, is the presence in Israeli society (including among politicians, military, intelligence) of the heightened sense of humanity. Apparently, those who make decisions could not even imagine that at the present time it is even hypothetically possible to break through the border with Gaza and simultaneously involve 2,500 “people” in the extermination of all life in their path. Apparently, due to its illogicality and level of inhumanity, no one even came close to allowing such a scenario.
The presence of the Holocaust in the Jewish history ties the hands of the Jewish State in choosing responses and measures. Jews cannot afford irresponsible massive shelling Gaza. Israel is conducting targeted warfare, minimizing civilian casualties by warning them in advance of the need to evacuate.
The Israelis have it in their blood, in their history, in their souls – preserving life. Human life is the most precious and valuable thing that Jews have. This is in their DNA code.
There can be no diplomatic solution to this crisis. For Israel, this crisis is its own version of 9/11, the consequences of which will fall on the entire Western and developed world.
