After Sinwar
Barely rid of Sinwar, we already hear calls for elections in Gaza.
As if overnight the Gazans were freed from the ideology that had been instilled in them since childhood!
After the defeat of Nazi Germany, the Allies did not immediately organize elections in Germany; They first organized denazification which required 9 stages:
- Military administration
- Trial of war criminals
- Denazification commissions
- Denazification procedures: (Sanctions could range from imprisonment to confiscation of property, to the banning of certain political or professional activities).
- Education reform
- Media reform
- Demilitarization
- Democratization of political life
- Economic aid: The Marshall Plan
It was only at the end of this process that elections could be organized.
It would be good to take inspiration from this model to try to rid Gaza of its demons and give it a real chance.
