The recent horrible spectacle in Charlottesville, Virginia, an American southern state and the home of the secessionist Confederate states in the nineteenth century which led to America’s four-year long Civil War, has made headlines in the news across the world.
The hated racist groups of the Ku Klux Klan, the White Supremacist movement and the Neo-Nazis marched with their Confederate flags and Nazi swastikas through the streets of the university city.
Their cries of “Jews will not replace us” and the German Nazi “blood will fill the streets” cry are reminiscent of what we heard from 1932-1945 in Hitler’s Germany.
They were met on the streets by hundreds of protesters and a fierce battle ensued. It began as a permitted protest by the anti-Semitic and anti-Black southerners supported and joined by similar racist groups across the American states. They had a legal permit to hold a protest march.
President Trump at first denounced the violence without mentioning the names of the hate groups. After loud protests from members of both political parties, Trump changed his tune one day later and condemned the hate groups by name. But he falsely accused both sides of causing the mass riots.
He said there were two sides to the battle and both sides were to blame. This statement ignited the fires of opposition to Trump as he was declared to be really a supporter of the white supremacists led by their leader, David Duke. During his campaign for the presidency, he never once denounced the White Supremacists, most of whom voted for him and considered him as sympathetic to their movement.
The newscasters on all the television stations openly condemned President Trump and explained that by his statement he was now showing his true colors, the real Trump who appealed for support from the white supremacist group while he was running for the office of President.
Trump is a man who never apologizes. He has never admitted that he had made mistakes. He claims he has never been wrong. His Jewish daughter Ivanka and her Jewish husband, Jared Kushner, made a personal appeal to the president to back-track on his miserable comments but he ignored their pleas.
This is the beginning of the tragic decline of America. Racism and hatred of Jews, blacks and others is spreading across the United States while the president’s attention is focused on Iran and North Korea and his alleged Russian collusion in the 2016 elections.
In my opinion, shared by millions of American voters, President Trump should resign from the high office for which he has never been qualified. Pending that, the American congress should seek to impeach him.
He will be recorded in history as America’s worst and most unworthy president. The greatest of all American presidents, the sixteenth, Abraham Lincoln, a Republican, is surely turning over in disgust in his crypt in Springfield, Illinois.
The riots began when Virginia sought to tear down the monument to Robert E. Lee, the general of the Confederate Army, who surrendered to the Union soldiers of the north in 1865. Lee was a very great military leader and revered to this day by all southerners in the former Confederate states.
Trump’s only response was “whose monuments will be torn down next… George Washington’s or Thomas Jefferson’s, both slave owners?”
America has not really recovered from the 1861-1865 war which divided the nation. And the very sick minds of Ku Klux Klan lynchers, white supremacists and Neo-Nazis are seeking to renew the days of the Civil War and are rumored to be planning to seek secession from the United States.
The failure of the American president to act strongly in condemnation of the one side responsible for the tragedy in Charlottesville is an indication of his total lack of knowledge of American history.
His moronic words following the tragedy will become history’s testimony to his lack of moral courage and to his failure to be a leader of the American people,
With Trump’s administration and with his lack of understanding, Hitler’s followers will bring about an American decline.
God help the Americans and all the freedom loving peoples of the world.
