Ari Kalker made aliyah from New York after high school, served as an infantry soldier in the IDF, and continues to serve as a combat reservist well past the traditional retirement age. He is the founder of the Joshua Institute for Research, Policy, and Leadership, advancing research and policy to strengthen the lone soldier community while inspiring the next generation of Jewish leadership. He previously spent many years working with lone soldiers and promoting Zionist education. Ari also co hosts the Boots on the Ground podcast with Shaun Sacks, where they provide on the ground analysis and strategic context on Israel's security, politics, and society that is often missing from English language media.
