Bring Back the British (in honour of good statehood)

There is little doubt in the minds of tens of thousands of Israeli citizens that our concept of independent statehood has failed. We are a country in despair of hope for redemption. Netanyahu has brought us international disgrace. Our coalition is weak and divided.

Our Knesset is a pit of filth, one party defaming another, one MK denouncing others with whom he does not agree. Our former prime minister is an indicted criminal who maintains his innocence with lies and with the support of his only two real supporters, wife Sara and son Yair, both of them ignoble characters.

We are imprisoned by the 16th century religious orthodox zealots who do not recognize the Judaism of the millions of non-orthodox Jews in Israel and world-wide.

For money they will close their eyes with hands outstretched for donations and bribes while Jews who wish to pray in their own manners and customs suffer at the hands of the haredim and ultra-orthodox slave-masters.

Most of the fault lies with David Ben-Gurion, our first devoted Prime Minister and leader of our new-born State in 1948. He placed religion into the hands of one group of religious leaders only and neglected the needs of more moderate and modern Jewish worshippers, males and females.

With the one exception of Binyamin Netanyahu, the criminal Bibi, we have been served well by almost all previous and present prime ministers and we have lived under the silent but loving guidance of esteemed presidents who brought and who bring honor to Israel throughout the world.

Is there a cure for our political sick system? In my opinion, not as long as we maintain the system.

The one possible cure will be to bring back the British. Restore the Mandate of 1918-1948, a mandate of law and efficiency. A mandate of culture, respect and human decency. Far from the Israel of today !

If we become once again an independent nation under the umbrella of the British Commonwealth, we will be guaranteed of a safe country protected against enemies within and without by the powers and military assistance of the Commonwealth nations.

Palestinians will be dispersed into the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the very real Palestine, and we will live quietly for protection against our enemies.

Members of Knesset will learn to speak politely and display good manners… things which disappeared with our independence in 1948.

Bring back the British. Bring back the mandate. Bring back security and tolerance.

Australia, Canada, New Zealand among other Commonwealth nations do not complain. And they prosper.

Are we in Israel any less deserving? Britain can lead us while Bibi reads the Times of London in his elaborate prison cell.

“Rule Brittania. Brittania rules the waves”. Not of the Mediterranean Sea but at least the waves of the Kinneret and the streams of the Jordan River.
I say, old chaps. Shall we give it a try? Tea and crumpets at four o’clock, London time.

Long live the smiles of good humour.
