Daddy’s home!

I was a lunch guest at Trump International Golf Club Course on Christmas Day and to my suprise (and delight) there he was.

First:

He drives his own golf cart.

Second:

He is followed by 30 golf carts.

There is security everywhere. The tell-tale sign is the curled wire trailing from the agents’ ears.

They wear “golf-casual” so they don’t stand out. They are young, fit and attentive.

And Trump?

He hadn’t changed one bit. Yes, Palm Beach (and West Pam Beach) are now then epicenter of the world but he still went from table to table speaking to people, asking questions, chatting them up as I remembered him doing years ago, pre-presidential run.

I was smiling broadly but I didn’t wave, point my thumb to the ceiling or do anything. I just sat there, amazed to be bearing witness to a historical moment, albeit one in which he was wearing a polo shirt and “dad slacks” and not his usual dark suit and red tie.

I was grateful that he won the election and Superman-like was in the process of stopping the speeding train.

I never understood the Democrats, certain agencies of government and the media’s raw hatred of Trump.

After all, his policies were good for the economy, fostered world peace, personal liberty, national security.

Trump is an American success story. His father was the son of German immigrants. His mother came from Scotland to work as a household maid. His family became enormously successful in building, entertainment, and other enterprises.

On January 20, 2025 we will see not only the return of Trump to the White House but, as many Americans believe, the return of the American dream.
