Don’t be fooled by Trump’s Executive Order

Good Afternoon to all of you blog readers here at the Times of Israel!  To begin, I want to issue a reminder that the American voters Trump is courting are Christian Evangelicals, not Jews. So, to all of you American voters reading this, resist or allow yourself to be used according to your best judgment.

This executive order is bad news. There should be no Jew in their right mind supporting it. As American Jews, we should stand up and resist having our nationality defined as anything else other than as Americans. This is an empty, dishonest manipulation by a President who wants to distract us from the truly violent white nationalism he has emboldened, and his own blatant antisemitism.

Yes, I am going to say it. President Trump is a white nationalist. The day we trust a white nationalist in exchange for the perception of protecting Jewish kids on college campuses over the welfare of kids at the US/Mexican border in cages is the day we officially push out of our relationship with other oppressed people and totally lose the correct narrative.

“But Ryan, his daughter and son-in-law are Jewish so there is no way he could be an anti-Semite or a white nationalist!”

Well, he sure is playing in to the hands of anti-Semites and white nationalists with this executive order. The whole “Jewish is a nationality” thing has been trumpeted by many an anti-Semite in history, from the 17th Century, to Hitler, to David Duke and beyond. Don’t allow yourself to be fooled by Trump.
