End Israel’s ‘Tribal Zionism’

Israel’s political chokehold on the now historical anachronism of ‘Zionism’ continues to become still more remarkably counterproductive and of increasingly high risk to Israel’s future. The Tribal Zionism of Israel’s Founders that wound through Israel’s early decades of war, survival and building strength also brought atrocities that risk being continued in its persisting defense.

Perhaps it is this exact denialism paired with the internalized refusal to recognize that the still young State of Israel reflects a more complex ecology; a need for political organization and resumed political evolution/development that is more the problem than has been recognized, understood…or accepted.

The Still Evolving Politics of Israel; A Misunderstood and Unrealized Dynamic

An overriding issue is that the framework of Israel’s Tribal Zionism which originally helped forge modern Israel and allowed so many Jews of very different political, faith and philosophical orientations to come together towards mutually agreed to goals and common outcomes has not only not evolved much further in the years since Israel’s independence but has been actively regressing leaving Israel far more inward looking and its politics structurally inhibited.

In fact, we now sadly watch as Jews in Israel have become more focused on fighting with and demeaning one another than remaining together in common strength and unity. We sadly watch as selected ultra Orthodox sects in particular continue their increasingly successful efforts to bring oppression to fellow Jews in ways which regional Arab nations; the PA and Hamas; strongly anti-Israel global communities could only dream.

Ultra-Orthodox Bringing the Millennia of Jewish Oppression into Israel; By Jews to Jews

Historical ‘Zionism’ is tribal; it’s defensive…it lived by its own long since outdated belief systems and guidelines which remain in place and continue sadly thematic to a modern Israeli politic unable to break free.

Without its choke hold on Tribal Zionism, Israel’s unstable hard Right coalition would have to do something – would have to offer a real vision for Israel’s future – beyond its more often destructive, sometimes outright racist political posturing and related performance art. And it is in Israel’s Tribal Zionism that the deeply ill advised ‘Jewish State’ bill is embedded.

The ‘Jewish State’ bill reflects this exact same deeply counterproductive and regressive Tribal Zionism dynamic. Though Israel already IS a Jewish state and should conduct it’s business AS a Jewish State, the bill risks further enshrining Israel’s Tribal; no longer applicable, ‘Zionist’ past rather than its future.

Israel has become a major world power center despite its diminutive size and the converged hate it experiences day to day. Israel is world class in its business, academics/research, industries and military to include having a hugely influencing and (previously) earned geopolitical relevance.

Despite all this, Israel – and too many of its Diaspora supporters – continue their chokehold on Tribal Zionism thereby giving an anti-Israel/anti-Semitic global community an open and much easier target as Israel clings to a political theology no longer representative, applicable or defensible.

Continued Tribal Zionism is a deeply antiquated political framework which has far more come to denigrate the work and blood it took to build modern Israel while failing to pinpoint and effectively utilize Israel’s modern strength and sophistication.

Israel will remain mired deep in its hole while toying with a true modern political statehood – continuing as its own most dangerous enemy – until it throws off the yoke of its founding Tribal Zionism and its deeply held tribal mentality with the intent to look to and create the honest, viable and functional vision for Israel’s future which still does not exist…
