Fate-faith

“brought on by a simple twist of fate ” – bob dylan

This has turned the world around.

Some say it is a reset

or maybe we were caught up in the frenzy

We put our own into the hands of others

And we then neglected our own.

We needed to have  more faith in  home.

We now know what the sanctuary of home is all about.

We are keenly aware of the gifts that were given to us.

Our families

Our teachers

Our front line caregivers

Our soldiers

Our freedoms

Our food, resources , connectivity, and so much more.

For those who have the luxury

We are busy mixing cocktails and cakes

We are all ” Zooming ” in place

We are getting to know a new life

” brought on by a simple twist of fate ”

I wrote a short piece  a few weeks ago reflecting some feelings   I was having by week two of sheltering:

” Just a little more ”

And now we ache

For the soldier stationed far from his home

For the person fighting cancer and has to be socially alone

For the widow and widower

For the divorced

For the weary caregivers at the end of a shift

And now we ache

For the precious elders of our towns

For the orphans through war or life itself

For those who face loss

For the disabled challenged to get around

And now we ache

Just a little more

More compassionate we will be

Tasting these pieces of humanity

We will understand

And we ache

Just a little more

Then when we were free
