Greater Israel—Jewish Genius and Technological Accelerationism (Part 1)

Part 1 of 3

This blog is devoted to projects, proposals and related themes that pertain to the Greater Israel project, which we alternatively dub Zionism 2.0, or Zionism Potentia.  Zionism 2.0 sees Israel at the beginning of its historical mission not at its terminus. The establishment of the State of Israel was and has always  been Zionism’s initial starting point. The larger objective is to establish a worldwide Hebraic Civilization which entails nothing less, to borrow Friedrich Nietzsche’s words, then “a revaluation of all values”. 

To this end, we are in the process of laying out a series of projects that will resituate Israel within a new technology intensive modernized and a forward looking framework defined by new forms of production, new types of innovative industries, new materials and tools, advanced communication, radically revised forms of learning, new forms of habitation and work, life-giving, life-extending and regenerative health modalities, and an entirely new decentralized economic schema defined by irreversible ledgers, cryptocurrencies, Moore’s Law, Shannon Entropy and evolutionary dynamics.  

We are at the beginning of a new era; an era that will be defined by vastly expanded human horizons and vistas. Zionism 2.0 is currently elaborating plans to develop projects of breathtaking grandeur and technological majesty that will build untold wealth and moral capital for Israel, solve profound problems necessary for human survival and prosperity that capture the imagination of the world. 

A few of the defining and flagship projects of Zionism 2.0 have already been outlined or touched upon in earlier entries including: 

*developing Hebrew as the Lingua Franca of Medicine within an entirely new medical praxis that emerges naturally and organically from the ontological ground of Eretz Israel. To this end, establishing a 100 billion dollar World Jewish biomedical R&D Research Trust that will support with its annual annuity a pure scientific research agenda unimpeded by practical considerations and exigencies. 

*The Engineering and building of an equatorially anchored space elevator/ Heaven’s Lift that will allow the entire solar system to be opened to immense human exploration and commercial development. 

*Situating the world’s first Von Neumann Constructor and Universal Tool Facility in the Negev Desert. A new type of economic institution from which millions of high-tech ventures and companies will be seeded. 

*Elaborating a global cryptocurrency/blockchain financial regime to embrace the von Neumann enterprise network that will be proof to subversion and inflationary wealth confiscation.  

*Outlining a compelling and imaginative plan that will draw two  million Jewish and spiritually-aligned immigrants over the next fifty years to model and futuristic communities dotted over the Golan Heights, Southern Lebanon, Northern Israel, Lower Syria, Judea and Samaria, the Galilee, the Negev and the Sinai.  

We have further outlined five memorial projects which were described in the poem ”Supernova”, a poem dedicated to the victims of October 7th, 2023. The poem, “Supernova”, was  the first entry on this blog. <https://blog.timesofisrael.com/poem-supernova/>

These memorial projects consist of:

* A Specialized ultra-sensitive space array. A telescope of unmatched resolution and optical power that can remain stationary to the width of a single atom and thereby detect the bio-signatures of distant exoplanets. This telescope will be named Supernova after the rave event that ended so tragically on October 7th. The Supernova Space Array will be designed to scan the heavens for habitable planets. A planet will be named for every victim of Oct 7th. The space array will allow tens of thousands of students to assist and participate in astronomical studies and an ambitious project to annotate and describe habitable planets.

*A stone memorial wall as described in the poem will be constructed at specially chosen locations throughout Israel. Each wall will be handbuilt from rare stones and by a master stonemason. Each wall will be surrounded by a garden and a play area that will provide rest and surcease. The walls will be constructed to last for the ages and act as a permanent reminder of the lives lost on October 7th, 2023. 

*Orchards of specially hybridized fruits and berries, every one of unmatched rarity, character and succulence. Each orchard will be named after a vandalized and despoiled Kibbutz or village. These fruits will be individually wrapped and branded as such and will be distributed worldwide, sanctifying these villages and the lives lost in each community. The fruits will provide a permanent reminder of the sweetness of life, its shortness and evanescence and the untiring love and remembrance for those that perished on October 7th, 2023.

*A hospital to be built in Sderot that will be dedicated to treating the victims of war, strife and natural disasters. The Sderot Memorial hospital will be open to victims from across the world. The hospital will lead the way in pioneering and treating war-related injuries. The hospital will provide a world inspiring model for compassionate care, treating not only the injuries of the body but trauma of the mind and psyche as well. 

A full inventory of Zionism’s 2.0’s existing and planned projects will be posted on a website soon to be announced. We are also planning an exhibition, conference and trade show which we refer to as Humankind 2026, subtitled, “The World’s First Startup Civilization”. The international events secondary related theme will be “Necessary and Sufficient Conditions for Human Prosperity and Survival.” The exhibition and event will incorporate high resolution, deep immersion digital graphics, 3D mobiles, sculptural displays, speculative models and simulations, conceptual films,  3D volumetric models, and various prototypes of planned and futuristic products. The event will include a physical mock-up and simulation of a space elevator encompassing computer controlled servo-motors that convey real G-forces and the actual lifelike experience of being ‘lifted’ to a space observatory in a geo-stationary orbit over the Sinai Desert. The conference, trade show and exhibition will showcase Israel’s global plans and world-scale ambitions. 

These and many other designs, artifacts and plans of Zionism 2.0. will be unveiled and showcased. Zionism must be reenergized and reimagined.  It must stimulate and inspire. The exhibition will be housed in a museum in Israel and a suitable venue will be determined for the principal conference, exhibition and trade show. An online or virtual event, as opposed to hosting the event physically, is also being considered. The event once launched will be ongoing and annual. 

Zionism 2.0 envisions Israel scaling the peaks of human attainment and national accomplishment. Specifically, we see Israel within the next fifty years in the very top tier of the world’s ten most advanced industrial nations supporting a multi-trillion dollar economy.

We see Tel Aviv as an architecturally dazzling cultural metropolis and as world centre for the arts, fashion, media, music, publishing, entertainment and as world centre for education. We see Tel Aviv as one of the world’s most modern and sophisticated cities, affording an unmatched level of urban comfort, safety and social existence. We envision, AI controlled personal transportation pods moving people seamlessly  from point to point above traffic and congestion (possibly based on the  SkyTran concept); Tel Aviv by 2075 will be a world financial and technological centre with the largest concentration of startups on the planet. Tel Aviv will be the preeminent and global centre for high technology and venture financing. 

We see Jerusalem in the same timeframe as one of the world’s great national capitals on par with Washington, Rome, London, Berlin, Paris and Beijing. A city of commanding presence and stature.  We foresee Jerusalem drawing its intellectual and moral preeminence from a ring of research and development institutes that will surround the city, a golden ring of thought and intellect; a place where erudition and the highest most recondite thought will find a natural home. Surrounding Jerusalem, we envision one of the world’s greatest concentrations of scientists, engineers, and scholars. A city unparalleled surpassing Rome in its range of religious institutions, houses of worship and study. 

We see Haifa as a place of unmatched beauty and wealth, a city that combines all of the best of Boston, San Francisco, and Barcelona simultaneously. We see the Technion now standing in the top 100 technical universities in the world (16th in aerospace engineering) by 2075 in the front rank along with five of Israel’s Universities ranking in the top 25 institutions in the world. We see the hills and mountains surrounding Haifa covered by the world’s most dense industrial cluster of firms in robotics, advanced tools,  complex machinery, aviation, armaments  and artificial intelligence.

We see the Negev as the centre of the most advanced computational, biological and quantum mechanics based industries on the planet. We see a world-wide trillion dollar industry organized around tissue-engineering and the bio-incubation of artificial organs. We see Negev based pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms manufacturing life extending and anti-aging medications and treatments. 

We see model cities and alpine communities in the Golan Heights with the mountains developed into world-class recreational and skiing resorts.

We see thriving communities, based on new models of urban living, stretching southward through the Galilee, Judea and Samaria, the Negev and all the way to Sharm El Sheikh. 

We see fast, nearly silent, magnetic levitation monorails connecting Sharm El Sheik and Eilat, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and north to Haifa, Beirut and Damascus. With see the ancient souks of Damascus and Beirut thriving and flourishing, open and free to their long departed Jewish denizens. 

We see one of the world’s largest space ports and logistics centres stretching from the Negev deep within the Sinai and connected by the Suez and the Red Sea to all points on the planet. We see revived waterworks, lakes, and recreational parks in once parched areas all throughout the Sinai and Negev. 

We see the much studied and long considered Red Sea-Dead Sea canal, mooted since the time of Napoleon, engineered and generating electricity, freshwater and altering the landscape of the Jordan Valley. We see freshwater everywhere reviving barren deserts and desiccated landscapes springing back to life. 

We see Israel bursting with foliage, plants, shrubs and dazzling flowers–a sensorium of senses and perfumes. We see barren hilltops as far as the horizon covered in forests, and the hillsides terraced with orchards, and fields of fruit trees. 

We see a loving attentiveness directed to every square foot and inch of land; a landscape that attracts great migrating flocks of birds and animals as they follow the great African rift valley. 

We see the wealth and abundance and plenitude of nature bursting outwards everywhere.  

The coast from Beirut to Gaza will become the world’s “silicon and germanium gold coast”, an entrepreneurial strip unmatched anywhere in the world, an innovative quantum-digital and AI freeway of architecturally striking offices, laboratories and modernistic buildings, pioneering new ways to work and collaborate.

We envision thousands of firms designing and creating new pharmaceuticals, medicines, nanotechnological marvels, invisible and magical wonders that merge with reality;  imagination-defying products of extraordinary functionality; medical innovations that are life-enhancing. 

We see as part of Zionism 2.0,  the expansion and extension of Israel’s existing universities and learning institutions and the building of new centres of excellence that attract students from around the world. 

We see a merging of ‘rabbinics’ and medical praxis and a deepening and a broadening of Jewish ritual and worship, re-energized and re-enlivened by the soil and ground of Eretz Israel. We see Israel’s hidden springs of creativity and genius bursting forth through the sediments and lattices that have been long congealed and blocked. Zionism 2.0 will give rise to a new moral effulgence, allowing a divine light to burst through illuminating everything. 

We see Israel’s medical institutions known and regarded universally for their unsurpassed level of practice and compassionate devotion to calling. Hebrew will be the language of medical learning and practice–a medical lingua franca.

We see everywhere and in all things the elevation of life and its sanctity. We see children everywhere, playing in an environment where safety is put before all other considerations and priorities. We see Israel as a country of great diversity, and plurality and tolerance, welcoming all the world with an unprecedented level of hospitality and civility. 

Zionism 2.0 is premised on a more nuanced and elaborate version of what is called “technological accelerationism”, or the “accelerationist paradigm”, this is the idea that historical processes, driven by technological trends, are increasing in velocity, and moving inexorably towards an unknown ‘end-point’, a cultural-social penultimate event of a transformative nature. 

*Dedicated to Shirel Golan, who died at the age of 22 by suicide one year after October 7th, 2023, after suffering from a year-long struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder. She had been attending the Supernova Concert when the attack occurred and had witnessed many horrific things. May she not be forgotten and may her memory be a blessing.
