Greta’s Voyage: Intercept, Ignore, or Let Her In? Yes or No.
Israel has already stopped her once and rightfully so. Let’s try this for something different. Should Israel just let the flotilla through, hoping the wind will be taken out of her sails and once she lands, this will quickly go away. How often can she repeat the stunt if Israel doesn’t react?
There is a risk in letting her through. What if they are carrying weapons with the supplies? What if she does up the ante and do it repeatedly, bringing more prominent people, figuring nothing will happen?
If Israel does what it normally does, stop the flotilla and deport them, it makes the news, Israel is seen as heavy handed and here we go again.
If Israel doesn’t enforce the blockade, it is a risk, but it might pay off in the long run.
No matter what Israel loses with Greta. The trick is minimizing the PR issues. It’s a gamble like anything else in this mess.
