Hezbollah and Israel on the brinks of another war

On October 1st, Hassan Nasrallah put out a public statement calling on “Anyone who came to occupied Palestine to leave it and return to the lands you came from, so you will not be the fuel for any war waged by your foolish government.” Nasrallah put this statement out to warn the “non-Zionist Jews” to leave Israel before there will be a destructive war between the two countries.

Israel and Lebanon have been in constant conflicts since the creation of the State of Israel. Lebanon, like most Arab countries, believes that war will be able to destroy Israel. They have gone to war against Israel in 1982 and in 2006. As we have learned, Lebanon has believed that in order to take out the Jews that took over the occupied Palestine they must wage war against Israel. In the past, Lebanon has lost to Israel and was shown that Israel is much stronger than what they thought. However, now, Hezbollah believes that Israel is not prepared or strong enough to fight against their army.

Most Arab countries have tried to instill fear in the people in Israel by sending messages that war will come if they do not leave. The Arab countries have realized that trying to scare the Jews to leave will not work. Nasrallah took a different approach by saying that “Netanyahu’s government is leading your people to devastation and destruction,” and added that the Israeli prime minister was “trying to lead the region into war in Syria and Lebanon.” By putting the government to blame for future destruction that will occur most people are starting to worry what is going to happen. Most are worried that Hezbollah and Iran will launch a war against Israel from southern Syria.

It is believed that Hezbollah has storage of 100,000 to 150,000 missiles and 50,000 soldiers ready to fight. Last month, Hezbollah commander said that they have more than 10,000 fighters in southern Syria ready to confront Israel.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has been trying to negotiate with his counterparts in the US and Russia to establish an Iran-free area in the surrounding border, but nothing has been done. The US has not taken action to help Israel against this major threat. Taking action on their own, Israel conducted one of their biggest military drills which had tens of thousands of soldiers participate in a simulation of a war with Hezbollah for 10 days.

Additionally, on Saturday, Nasrallah accused Israel and the United States of arranging a controversial vote on support for independence in Iraq’s Kurdistan. The majority of the Iraqi Kurds voted for independence however it was only symbolic voting. This has caused even more tension in the region to arise. Countries like Iran, Turkey, and Syria have all rejected the vote.

Israel is doing what it can to protect itself however it needs the help of its strong allies. The US needs to help Israel as it is a one bomb country. Meaning, one bomb can destroy all of Israel. Israel needs the help to defend all of its borders from the possible threat of war and a nuclear bomb. The regional tension that is growing is not good for Israel has that means there are more countries against them.
