How close are we to World War III ?

Hamas terrorists entered Israel on 10/7/2023 and caught us unaware. They slaughtered men, women and children in their beds… more than 1,400 innocents died that day. It feels as though it is the beginning of the end… not just my end…but the end of civilization as we know it.

For many years, Israel has been considered the “canary in the coalmine.” If the canary does not survive, the mine is toxic and all in it will die as well. Although I have been totally committed to Israel’s survival throughout my life, I did not fully understand the magnitude of that for which I was fighting. In essence, the fight is for civility, rationality, and humanity…essentially what has been known as the “Western way of life.”  In contrast to the barbarism of history, we in the West thought of ourselves as rational and reasonable beings. We created systems to care for our sick and less fortunate. We created wealth. We lived in our bubble while others lived in a totally different reality with death, destruction, and violence as their core value. We in the West excused their culture, even embraced those espousing it, as being “victims” entitled to their grievances. We welcomed them into our lands… into our universities… into the fiber of our societies. We were the “good” people. We simply did not understand. Those of us who saw the danger were vilified for being “right-wing”, intolerant, ungrateful, nasty… when all we really wanted was to preserve the way of life that we treasured and held so dear. Others did not believe that they were at risk. This war has proven them wrong. Now we are all at risk.

Israel’s war to destroy Hamas in Gaza has the potential for becoming World War III.  The United States has its war ships off the beaches of Haifa, prepared to participate if Iran encourages Hezbollah to join a full war effort in addition to what has already transpired. Analysts are predicting a 50-50 chance that will occur. They say that Iran wants to save Hezbollah for their own purposes down the line. If Israel should destroy Lebanon… it would be against Iran’s interests. On the other hand, Lebanon claims to house approximately 150,000 missiles… situated quite literally, in homes which were built around (in order to hide) their individual launching sites. What I did not envision four years ago, was that a war involving Israel’s survival might spin out of control and become World War III.

How did this much hatred of the West…with Israel, and Jews world-wide as its punching bag… come to be? A press conference yesterday with Arik Aggasi, the COO and head of global partnerships “Impact-se” gave a detailed view of the Hamas educational system, texts which are used by the Palestinian authority as well as the Gazans. This education is implemented by thousands of Palestinian civil servants…  who are “monitored” by the United Nations UNRWA (which sees no problem with the texts?)… and the entire educational system is paid for by the European Union.  Their texts from grade one upwards, speak incessantly of the glory of murdering Jews and destroying Israel. Their values are clearly stated over and over in these texts. Murderers of our people are their heroes and they sanctify them by studying their successes in killing the infidels. When an entire people is raised on the concept of hatred, annihilation, and the holiness of their cause, how can the world be shocked when they produce murderers of innocents by the thousands? Their mathematics uses examples of murdering Jews in the exams…  how many Jews will be murdered “if” you multiply X by Y ?

This is the mentality of those Arabs who have infiltrated American campuses and who are leading the ignorant masses with their malignant cause. When we see the pro-Hamas rallies…we are seeing rallies essentially for the destruction of everything that the Judeo-Christian ethic has created. If this was limited only to university campuses… it would be bad enough. But when we see throngs of haters on the streets of the major cities of the world, we can no longer ignore what our gentility and naivete have brought into our own communities. This is a world war whether or not more nations take up arms. It is a war of cultures…which has come to every front door…every school…and every governing body in the western world. This is what those of us who were considered “extreme-right” thinking people, have feared and others have ignored. I have never wanted to be “right” about any of this.

And yet, here I am in Jerusalem, hearing the engines of fighter planes overhead…prepared with food, water, batteries, flashlights and a bomb shelter nearby for absolute disaster.

The President of the United States is coming to the middle east tomorrow. He would not be doing that if he had a choice. He is rightfully trying to stop the expansion of this war, because failing to do so will affect the entire world. The fifth column that the free world has invited into their borders, is waiting to destroy from within, that which we all hold dear.

For those who believed that “antisemitism” had nothing to do with them… the fact that this vile ideology could spiral into a World War III, will come as a terrific shock indeed.

The nation of Israel is alive… chanting prayers for the innocent lives lost…. prepared to fight for all that we hold dear. It is not possible to hide from evil. Only assaulting it on every possible front will bring it to its knees.
