Since the attacks of October 7, anonymous Jews have risen in defense of justice and truth, facing a daily battle not only against terror but also against narratives that shape public opinion. In Brazil, where a significant portion of the media adopts a critical stance toward Israel, this struggle takes on even more challenging contours.

In the first days of the war, newspapers and broadcasters turned their eyes to Israel and the Jewish community, stunned by the violence in the Middle East.

The Israeli Confederation (CONIB) mobilized the press to bear witness to the pain of a people in shock. Behind the scenes, amid tears and relentless work, there were those who kept the gears of community communication turning.

Today, the battle has shifted to another front: that of narrative. In almost every Jewish event, resilience is highlighted as a hallmark of survival. Yet there are names that remain outside the spotlight, sustaining this silent resistance.

Among them is Liane G. Zaidler. Discreet but tireless, she works week after week—through events, articles, and press outreach. Her dedication keeps the Jewish locomotive in Brazil moving forward, even when everything seems on the verge of stopping.

Liane represents the invisible strength that ensures the Jewish community continues in motion. Her behind-the-scenes work is a testament to courage and commitment, and for that she deserves recognition. This tribute is for her: a woman who, without seeking the spotlight, has become essential in defending the memory, identity, and dignity of Jews in the country.
