These are tough days in Israel. I lived through the second Intifada and will never forget the fear that gripped Israeli society. I don’t have political or security answers to the challenges we face.

I do have the Israeli high tech answer to terrorism.

Israeli high tech professionals — innovate, build and grow!

Our answer is to create more startups, innovate within our current startups and high tech companies and grow Israel’s technology fortress.

We can make Israel even more important than ever to the global economy. We can make our technologies a precondition to life – like water and oxygen. Growing Israel’s GDP during tough times rests on our shoulders — the domestic economy was already contracting before this terror wave began, and now we can expect 0% growth at best.

We can limit the damage to Israel’s economy with spectacular exits and more overseas sales. The English speakers who work in high tech pre-sales and sales should do their best to bring in even more dollars and euros to Israel. High tech marketing teams should create successful marketing campaigns that make those sales even easier.

Sounds strange? Israel’s economy — especially high tech — grew at a phenomenal pace during the second intifada. We never stopped creating and exporting our technologies, and that is exactly what we should do now.

Don’t Forget Your Wallet!

Don’t stop spending money. You may have second thoughts about going out, but the worst thing you can do is to stop spending money. Let’s not collectively punish our own economy. Don’t feel like sitting at a restaurant during tense times? Order in.

Israelis — Innovate and Spend

It is up to our government and security forces to restore calm. We should do everything in our power to make our high tech companies stronger and keep innovating, keep generating profits and keep winning.

Israelis, fight fire with innovation!
