Israel’s challenger
Ismael Haniya is dead, and the silence following his death was quickly filled with Iran’s threats of revenge. The attribution of his death to Israel, although not yet officially confirmed, places Israel once again at the center of a political and military storm. This is not unknown territory for us; our history has been marked by a relentless struggle for survival and legitimacy since the beginning.
While our self-defense actions are often justified, they are frequently viewed with skepticism and criticism. We already know what they will say about the excessive use of force and human rights violations, and we need to recognize the complexity of this global perception. No matter how justifiable our actions are, there will always be a shadow of doubt about our morality and legitimacy.
Let’s be clear: when the Iranian attack occurs, it will not just be a military provocation but a political storm of grand proportions. International support, especially from the U.S., is essential but not unconditionally guaranteed. Israel’s response needs to be swift and forceful but also strategically thought out, as the global community will meticulously analyze each decision through the filter used since Benjamin Netanyahu and his far-right group began managing our beloved country.
Take, for example, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Armenia’s main ally is Iran, and its worst enemy is Azerbaijan, a great partner of Israel. Azerbaijan’s military strength, bolstered by Israeli training and arms, has significantly surpassed that of Armenia, making it a formidable front against Iran. The price, however, is Azerbaijan’s control of various Armenian territories, which can further entrench regional instability and exacerbate the suffering of Armenian communities. Imagine all this, combined with our survival, depending on the hands of the despicable individuals currently governing us.
This brings us to a critical question: how can we, with this global predisposition against us, depend on Benjamin Netanyahu and his far-right group to legitimize our right to exist? This is a self-inflicted wound. Netanyahu’s leadership, marred by accusations of corruption, radicalism, and human rights abuses, undermines our moral standing. His policies and rhetoric alienate potential allies and fuel anti-Israel sentiment worldwide. Relying on such a polarizing figure not only jeopardizes our international support but also tarnishes the very essence of our nation’s democratic and ethical principles.
Israel’s leadership must reflect integrity and an unwavering commitment to justice. Netanyahu’s controversial policies compromise our cause and hinder international support. We need leaders who can navigate our complex challenges with wisdom and ethics.
In the end, we are Israel. Our fight is for survival and truth, knowing that the road ahead is full of challenges. Our strength is our ability to remain integral and just in a world that frequently questions our intentions. There is nothing integral or just about a homophobic, fascist, and misogynistic group.
We need change. We are more than a nation; we symbolize resistance and resilience. Only in this way will we ensure our survival, legitimacy, and honor on the global stage.
