It’s wake up time!

YESTERDAY’S Jerusalem Post said: “…diplomats continue to push for the outdated two-state solution, ignoring new realities and Israel’s security concerns.”
My personal response is: Have we proposed any alternative options? Because the status quo obviously isn’t one. It is high time we all faced the unvarnished, ugly reality. This government of Netanyahu’s, in its present coalition lineup, is bereft of any ideas, any future, or even current, short term options beyond what it has been doing for near on two years now, without even a hint of long term success.
Appealing to the world to “listen”, as The Post did a day ago, means nothing. First we have to provide aforementioned world with something to listen to. Namely, a detailed, viable, achievable alternative to the two state chimera. The present regime doesn’t even know what it plans to be doing in the evening, when Netanyahu gets out of bed at the break of day, let alone what to do with post war Gaza. We will probably stay on top in the armed conflict, but this Israeli government is driving OUR Jewish state towards a catastrophe of almost total diplomatic, trade, cultural, military and societal isolation. Which – let us be honest with ourselves – was to be expected with the likes of Smotrich, Ben Gvir and numerous likeminded others in positions of power, led by a man whose only real plan concerns how to remain Prime Minister. Everything else is subjugated to his personal obsession.
Israel, Israelis and our entire Diaspora will suffer the consequences for generations, if not forever.
