Ivanka Trump is the New Queen Esther
Since America is the most powerful country in the world, it is significant that our Jewish community has a voice in developing America’s policies and allocating America’s vast resources.
The United States emerged from the Cold War as the world’s leading superpower politically, culturally, and economically. The USA is a founding member of the United Nations, NATO, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. The country is the world largest importer and the second largest exporter of goods. The US constitutes 4% of the world’s population; yet, it holds 31% of the world’s total wealth; the largest share of global wealth concentrated in one country.
Given these facts, it is safe to assert the United States of America is the leading civilization in our post-modern world.
President Donald Trump, as chief executive of the US, is both head of state and head of government; where he directs the executive branch of the federal government and is the commander-in-chief of the United States Armed Forces, which has the second largest nuclear arsenal. According to Credit Suisse, the Armed Forces of the USA are the most powerful military in the world.
Based upon the above-mentioned facts, it is safe to say that President Donald Trump may be the most powerful and influential leader in the world. Given the tremendous power and influence of President Trump, it is logical that world Jewry would want to favorably influence the president and develop positive relations therewith.
Fortunately, within the First Family of the United States, there is a ‘Jewish queen’ who is influencing the president of the United States on behalf of the Jewish people; her name is Ivanka Trump, eldest daughter of the president.
When Ivanka Trump converted to Orthodox Judaism, she chose the Hebrew name “Yael”. According to the Book of Judges in the Hebrew Bible, “Yael” was the heroine who killed the wicked Sisera to deliver Israel from the army of King Jabin. By taking the Hebrew name “Yael”, Ivanka Trump was signaling her own role as a heroine who saves the Jewish people from its various enemies.
In addition to the Biblical “Yael”, Ivanka Trump is analogous to Queen Esther, whom Jewish communities celebrate during the yearly Purim holiday. In the “Book of Esther”, the Persian King Ahasuerus marries Esther, a Jewish exile. When the evil “Haman” gets permission from the king to order all Jewish in the kingdom to be killed, Queen Esther convinces her husband to revoke the command; thereby allowing the Jewish community to take revenge on its enemies.
In today’s world, President Trump is analogous to the king; while Ivanka Trump, as the daughter of the king, is the proverbial princess in the modern kingdom of America.
With the compassionate influence of our modern Queen Esther (Ivanka Trump), let’s consider the following facts: (1) President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. (2) Trump then moved the United States embassy to Jerusalem. (3) Trump recognized the Golan Heights as an integral part of Israel. (4) Trump recognized the legality of Israeli presence in Judea and Samaria (5) President Trump signed an important executive order recognizing Jewishness as a nationality.
These strongly pro-Jewish and pro-Israel policies implemented by President Trump were influenced by his daughter, Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner, who is an Orthodox Jew. In a real sense, Ivanka Trump is the new “Queen Esther”.
Ivanka Trump, who sometimes worships in a Chabad Lubavitch synagogue, walks the corridors of power at the highest levels while proudly promoting Jewish values. In observance of her Jewish identity, First Daughter Ivanka has a kosher “Mezzuzah” on the door of her office in the White House and her children attend Jewish day school.
Ivanka Trump, who converted to Orthodox Judaism under the auspices of Rabbi Haskel Lookstein, who serves as Rabbi Emeritus of Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, helps to protect the world Jewish community by exerting influence within the Trump Administration.
The world Jewish community should love, support, and respect Ivanka Trump as the new incarnation of Queen Esther.
To paraphrase Dina Coopersmith, who teaches Torah in Jerusalem, Queen Esther taught the Jewish people skills which we use throughout the years of exile: Place our trust in God, to know that God is listening, even when He is hidden. We must unite as a people and act to arouse God’s mercy-even risk your own life-knowing that God will respond and save our people.
Let our people–the Jewish people–stand with Ivanka “Yael” Trump as she stands with us. I officially propose naming a street in Israel as “Ivanka Trump Street”.
