Jerusalem of Gold: ‘Miss Israel World International’ Reflects on Rubio’s Visit and US-Israel Bond

As “Miss Israel World International” 2025, I felt a deep sense of pride this week when US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stood alongside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem. His presence was more than diplomatic — it was a message to us, as Jews, that we are not alone.

Just last month, I walked the global stage in the United States, wearing the national costume I designed: “Jerusalem of Gold.” It was a tribute to my childhood in Jerusalem and the holiest city in the world. Seeing America’s top diplomat in our homeland gave new life to my creation, showing that Israel has true friends — people who stand with us in hope, resilience, and freedom.

Rubio’s visit was not only symbolic for Jews worldwide but also a powerful affirmation: the United States and Israel stand shoulder to shoulder during one of the most challenging moments in our history. Israel is fighting for its survival and for the safe return of our hostages. We face criticism, international pressure, and calls to back down. Yet when Rubio declared there is “little daylight” between the US and Israel, he reminded the world that our struggle is not ours alone. America sees the danger we face.

Being recognized as “Miss Israel World International,” an Israeli representing my country on the international stage, I am often asked how Israel is perceived abroad. The truth is, support matters. The road ahead is not simple, and the world often judges Israel without walking in our shoes. But this week showed me that Israel is not isolated. We have allies who understand that standing with Israel means standing for freedom and democracy.
