Free public transportation and just watch the number of buses and bikes skyrocket and of cars and traffic jams dwindle. Just, people under the age of six should be accompanied by someone of at least nine years old.
The economy will get a boost as never before. Traffic jams cost a fortune. Money spent on foreign cars can be used for other needs locally produced.
Public well-being will rise even more. Rail and bus riders will have time to do homework, call friends and family, learn Hebrew — you name it.
National air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions will plummet. A big boost for the population’s health, especially in cities and along highways.
Free buses and trains will make Israel an even more popular tourist destination. We will again be a light unto the nations (Isaiah 42:6, 49:6).
National pride and cohesion will rise as all Israelis share travel space and get to see parts of the country they otherwise would not have visited.
Egotism, competitiveness, and snobbism will be reduced as no one needs the newest most prestigious stupid car anymore to stand out.
Driving a car for trips or to commute or to collect the kids would become something like drinking alcohol: it’s legal but couldn’t you do with less?
The party who’d bring this legislation to fruition will become the largest party in the Knesset for decades. Anyone?
