Melons in wine
Melons in Wine
I generally do not use wine when I cook. I want to simply use the natural flavors of the foods that I am preparing rather then over powering the dish with wine. This is actually a delightful exception. I think you will agree that the wine really does make all the difference in the world.
Ingredients
2 Melons Cantaloupe or any other melons or combination of melons you like.
6 fl oz. dry Kosher Israeli Sparkling Wine
3 tbs. Orange Marmalade
A few fresh Mint Leaves, Chopped
Directions
Remove the flesh from the melons and cut into small cubes. Put the cubes in a bowl. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the wine, marmalade and mint. Pour the mixture over the melon flesh, and stir gently.
Cover with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for 4 hours. Serve cold.
A special note. Whenever possible please purchase Kosher items that come from Israel especially those products that originate in Judea and the Shomron.
