New University course needed: War 101

While the world is witnessing millions of innocent civilians attempting to escape the brutality of Russia’s war, many in the West are scratching their heads and wondering how this came to be. It really is quite simple.

Even as Russia was surrounding Ukraine with 140,000 + troops, the question in the air was “Will they attack?” Of course, they were going to attack! No nation goes to that expense without a plan that is meticulous. It is clear that Russia planned this attack for months, if not years. The details… where to aerial bomb…how to move the troops…how to get supplies to those troops… how to take over another country, needed to be worked out far in advance.

How will University courses in the future explain the prelude to this war? What will they declare is America’s responsibility for the loss of lives, destruction of homes and mayhem perpetrated by Vladimir Putin’s air force and the Russian troops on the ground? A superficial view is that it has nothing to do with America. That is simply untrue. The American voters unwittingly set into motion a horrific war.

The world of evil-doers has been waiting, and the American voters gave them their dream team.

The first basics of war 101, are that the only deterrent to aggression is strength. The “Cold War” with the Soviet Union was cold…because both sides were terrified of one another. Both had the ability to annihilate their perceived enemy. Both were fierce. Hence a stalemate.

What those right of center have understood for a very long time, is how connected every political decision is to the future of mankind. Every vote cast in the United States had an impact on the lives of those fleeing Putin’s brutality.

Americans in the last election voted for promises of a “nanny state.” They wanted a kinder, gentler nation which would not hold hoodlums accountable, and would pay for everything we require. They wanted promises of coca cola in the school’s water fountains. They wanted an America without war, which only cared about their needs and would stay out of Inter-national crises. How unkind to send our boys to war on foreign land! We want our soldiers to reap the benefits of military life, but not be sent to Iraq, Afghanistan, or other hotspots where they might be put at risk. Pull our troops out! We are the nice guys.

The world was watching as America changed the essence of its moral code. It was once (hypothetically) … “Do what is right.” Now it is “Do what is right for me.”  Thus, the American voters got rid of their irritating President and along with that election, found themselves weaker than ever in history. An American President who will not stand up against evil, invites it to flourish.

One can only imagine how many bottles of Dom Perignon were opened around the world, when the final count of the US election declared Mr. Biden the victor. It was the gift –  for which Iran, China, Russia, Pakistan, North Korea, and other aggressive dictatorships had been waiting. Finally, an America led by a president who thought words replace action. A perfect four years ahead to plan the development of nuclear weapons, aggressive wars, murder and mayhem heretofore unthinkable.

The average American voter has never realized that their vote impacts the lives of others in nations they have never visited, speaking languages they do not comprehend. They have been encouraged to think only of “woke” issues, and to vote (as an example) … out-of-concern for someone’s right to determine their own sex, rather than on the rights of human beings to live in peace and security.

Left and right are very real political concepts which play on the naivete of the voters. American voters have been encouraged to submerge their political consciousness into the wrongs of the past … historical grievances from slavery and its impact on America today are far more “relatable” to the average American voter, than the empowering of nations such as Iran, China and Russia who hold the future of the entire world in their claws.

What the “right” understands is how interconnected the political forces of the world actually are. How the ripple of one American vote could open the way for Evil to aggressively move forward when it feared to do so in the past. A redefining of American values may look good on paper… but try explaining that to the innocents losing their lives in Ukraine. An inept President and a constantly divided and weakened US Congress have empowered Putin. Biden’s impotence has empowered Iran. He strengthens China. The world is rapidly feeling the direct impact of a frightened and insular United States. It is heartbreaking that our political choices are so hurtful to people we have never met. Families torn asunder. Children killed. Homes destroyed. No one in Ukraine will have a city intact, waiting for their return. Putin has grabbed the opportunity to defy the West.

When the Universities announce new Political Science courses in the coming years, will they have even one course which suggests that America’s weakness was at the very root of Putin’s decision to attack Ukraine?

Evil succeeds because others allow it to do so. Putin knew before he moved one troop into place that the United States would not touch its own nuclear arsenal, or send troops in defense of Ukraine. Europe lost its backbone years ago. It was full speed ahead for the past head of the KGB.

The Russian citizens have been muted. They are not allowed to dissent or they have been told they will face unimaginable consequences. Putin’s KGB background has prepared him for this moment. Russians will again cower in silence.

Americans continue to go to the voting booths oblivious to the tsunamis they empower around the world when they cannot “see the forest thru the trees.” As long as their own garden has a bit of fruit, they are content. Apparently, no one learns from history except the tyrants.
