Nonsense of the Day

Every day the media publishes news to excite or to aggravate readers. Whether true or untrue, much of it cannot be proved. Ergo, what is the purpose or sense in printing it?

Did you know that Hitlers saba was a Jew? His father, Alois, was born to a household cook in Graz, Austria allegedly impregnated by a Jewish man! Can you imagine Hitler sitting on his Jewish grandpa’s lap? Maybe if Grandpa refused to give him candy, his anger and hatred for Grandpa inspired his hatred for all Jews. Nonsense of the day !

Yair Lapid’s video created a stir among Israel’s political parties because, although in jest or mockery, he told a basic truth in his own misguided words. Claiming that Deri demanded millions for support of the Orthodox yeshivot and claiming that Litzman wanted all the money in Israel was not just nonsense. It was sheer stupidity. And it will be harmful to Gantz and the Blue and White party in the September elections.

Lapid is not stupid. He is an intelligent man, a gifted writer, son of a devoted Zionist family. Why it was necessary to publicly attack the Haredim lacks reason and understanding.
Many may agree with Lapid’s mockery, but it would be wiser to think it, rather than to speak it.

Netanyahu rejects a unity government. Instead, he opts for a dis-unity government, one that he already has. King Avigdor will continue to deprive him of his main desire… to be the autocratic ruler of a once but no longer democratic state. Not nonsense !

Bezalel Smotrich wants to eradicate all civil laws and replace them with ancient biblical or halachic laws. He yearns for a government like that of King David, the man who committed adultery by having a sexual union with Bathsheba, wife of Uriah the Hittite.

And then, to confound the matter, when Bathsheba’s pregnancy was known, David had to arrange for the murder of her husband by having Uriah sent to the front lines of battle fighting for the king where he was slain. Only then could David take Bathsheba as his wife. Is that the King David that Smotrich wants us to emulate? More Smotrich nonsense.

Netanyahu has recently approved the building of 2,300 new homes in the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) which, if done would put a nail in the coffin of international agreements regarding territory for an unrealized Palestinian state. More Bibi Nonsense.

Every nation and international organization has voiced strong disapproval and has declared Bibi’s plan as a violation of international law. Not nonsense.

Homes built on the borders of Palestinian areas are subject to attacks by angry “neighbors” who view the territory legally as their own. Proposed annexation of the West Bank is a total violation of international law. Opposing nations can sever diplomatic relations with Israel as a sign of deep protest.

If Liberman could be elected prime minister, our long-standing wars with Gaza would come to a final end. Unlike Netanyahu’s policy of appeasement and fear of military confrontation, Liberman would send massive land and air forces across the spance of the Gaza strip, would destroy Gaza’s infrastructures, seek and find Hamas leaders to be assassinated, free Gaza from the captivity of Hamas and its terrorists, and would remain in Gaza until a new and freely elected government was chosen to rule in the strip. Only then would we see tranquility on our southern borders. Not nonsense.

At home, Deputy health minister Litzman has been recommended by police for indictment. His crime was to prevent the deportation to Australia of an Orthodox woman charged with 74 counts of sexual assault. In his role as a health minister, he demanded that psychiatrists declare the woman unfit to stand trial or deportation, feigning poor health.

This act of bribery and lying to protect a known pedophile makes Litzman unfit to keep his post and his indictment should be hastened and our relations with Australia be normalized once again. No nonsense.

So much for the recent news. Tomorrow’s press will bring new surprises. And isn’t that what we all anxiously await?

Could newspapers long survive if they did not print nonsense to amuse readers?

Happy reading!
