Obedient Handmaiden of Barbarism: Meet Julia Macfarlane!

Julia Macfarlane, a BBC graduate, has just turned another corner: writing an “article” which lovingly justifies the phenomenon of rioters who stone Israelis. Young Julia, then, is busily engaged in unpicking the seams of civilized society by exhorting the masses about the glories of barbarism. Worse, Julia does this under the auspices of a seeming bastion of innocuousness — ABC News, owned by Walt Disney.

Julia’s “work” enhances Palestinian Arab abuse tactics. Here’s how these tactics work:
Phase 1: Rabble-rousing young people, then sending them out to attack the Jewish people or state — rather than off to their studies or to an honest day’s work like the rest of us,
Phase 2: Photographing the resulting misery (when Israel defends herself), then converting that misery into blood-and-gore press coverage,
Phase 3: Converting the blood-and-gore press coverage into political capital, and finally political capital into money lining the personal bank accounts of Palestinian Arab “leaders”, then right back to Phase 1.
What a great business it is to traffic in human misery!

Ever wondered which reporters stoop so low as to serve this barbaric agenda which is hacking away at civilization as we know it?
Julia is a prime example. She’s said to have “wandered around Palestinian refugee camps” for months, allowing herself to become thoroughly infatuated or perhaps indoctrinated.
Let us see what she has learned (or been trained) to produce.

Here are examples of Julia’s dramatic rhetoric from her BBC days – she reads like a best-selling thriller but this prose is defined on the BBC website as “news”:

“His femoral artery, one of the largest arteries in the body, was visible, pulsing beneath barely a centimetre of tissue.”
“If it were to break, there would be spurts of blood on the ceiling, and he would be dead in minutes,” Dr Graeme said quietly.
“The theatre was thick with the smell of rotting flesh”

Now let us look at Julia’s newest creation – a thinly disguised verbal and visual manifesto glorifying violence, entitled “Why Palestinians throw stones”.

As a preliminary matter, Julia’s knee-jerk prejudice against the Jewish state is clearly on display. Her “article” makes misty reference to Ariel Sharon’s “role in the 1982 massacre at a Palestinian camp”. To the uninitiated (i.e. everybody) this is a kick to the readers’ gut (mis)informing that Palestinian Arabs were massacred on a grand scale by the later-to-be premier of the Jewish state. In fact, what happened was that Sharon was found by vigilant Israel to have insufficiently protected civilians from their own Arab brethren – who were the ones who did the massacring.

Moving on to Julia’s loving descriptions of Arab rioters. Starry-eyed Julia reports adoringly that the rock has “has become a symbol of (Palestinian Arabs’) struggle” and “crystallized the very spirit of the (Palestinian Arabs’) resistance” against the Jews. “The …men armed with stones …has drawn comparisons to … David and Goliath,” Julia explains feelingly to her melting readers. Stoning is a “defining act of Palestinian identity” and a “symbol of brazen defiance” in the face of “hopeless and inevitable defeat” that “epitomized how many Palestinians feel”, Julia tells us. This is because Jewish soldiers have “massively outgunned” Arabs. And that explains why “hundreds of miles to the north, displaced Palestinians in disparate camps …have splashed hundreds of images of catapults and slingshots on the walls of their shanty houses”.

In other articles, Julia has provided ghoulish close-up photos of injuries. Here, for dramatic effect, the photos adorning the article focus on “a disabled protester in his wheelchair”, “pillars of black smoke”, etc. One photo, Julia says, shows an Arab teenager who “faces an Israeli tank, during clashes”. The picture is a pictorial lie, because the tank is stationary – not chasing the child. (In general, anyone with a bit of knowledge about the military is bound to know that tanks are never used to chase people).

Julia admits that she has seen Palestinian Arabs “operating thick elastic bands… stretched out between three people with …a jagged rock the size of a fist in the cradle of the sling before releasing at a terrifying velocity”. Suddenly unemotional, Julia also achieves purported objectivity by tersely informing that “Hitting someone in the head (with a rock) could easily cause death, which is why the Israeli military takes stone throwers seriously”. But Julia, if stoning can cause death, that should have dissuaded you from writing a fawning article romanticizing it. It’s not enough to just toss a tiny civilized afterthought into an emotion-laden ode to a deliberate culture of violence and death.

And of course — no dramatic pictures or prose about the Jewish children and babies killed or injured by such rocks are provided.

At any rate, Julia quickly recovers from these inconvenient facts and goes on to her finale: an ode to “The teen who threw rocks …an example of someone who paid for his actions. He was shot dead”. This teen is “instantly recognizable to Palestinians everywhere”, Julia extols. The dead child, Julia names reverently, is Faris Odeh.

Who is Faris Odeh? Back now to Palestinian Arab abuse tactics. Faris Odeh is being used on Arab social networks as an example of a model child who fulfills expectations by repeatedly throwing rocks at Jews until the Jews kill him. If you google “Faris Odeh” you will find animations and cartoons – in Arabic, which hold Odeh up as a shining role model — to a gullible and defenseless Arab juvenile audience. What have you wrought, BBC and Walt Disney? How can civilization survive if this barbaric, child-abusing “journalism” (aka exhortation of the masses) is taught, tolerated, encouraged, promoted, distributed and perpetuated?

There are prominent, wealthy liberal Jews, rabbis and organizations, in and from Great Britain, who can speak out about this, if they so choose. There are powerful, wealthy liberal American Jewish organizations in the United States who can do the same. What choice will they make? Will inaction continue to prevail in these ever-so-dignified influential circles? This is the real drama here.
