October 7th. One Year

The Tunnel

One Year

One year since October 7th.

One year since we’ve all awakened

On year since the morning of horrors

That decimated our safe tomorrows

Once year, it’s hard to believe

The world has hardened, we all grieve

One year our soldiers keep fighting

One year, candles we keep lighting.

One year our hostages taken

One year our hearts still breaking

One year a million tears

One year, a million fears

One year we are growing stronger

One year, we listen no longer

To lies devised,  twisted rhetoric

One year, we wait, still, for the end of it

One year, we maintain our faith

One year the enemies we invade

One year, still not feeling safe

One year we continue our crusade

One year we hold on to our heart

One year could have torn us apart

One year we’ve been in the dark

One year, we still hold a spark

One year we won’t let them win

One year, they will pay for their sins

One year we will break the oppression

One year, we fight the aggression

One year, with God on our side

One year, we pray they are alive

One year, we fight for peace

One year, may our hostages be released

I truly believe God has a higher plan

Perhaps unseen from where we stand

In our hearts we know the goodness of our soul

We will defend our people, our faith and our home.

One year…
