If anyone
People are in pain, in shock, scared, or uninformed, and therefore they blame bystanders (non-Jews and non-Jewish countries) instead of just the murderers with their foreign roots.
When Israel, again, proved to be undefeatable 2053-2025, desperate and humiliated terrorists and the States that finance, train, and back them vowed to go after the Jews outside of the Jewish State.
This has nothing to do with the Antisemitism in their host countries. That is bad and scary too, but pales compared to what Chamas, Chezbollah, Islamic Jihad, ISIS, etc. have in mind–Heaven forbid.
Iran, Chezbollah, Chamas, and many others hope, plan, and trust to attack Israel again soon and more successfully. Yet, Israel has the resources to give safety to almost everyone. In the Diaspora, there is too much naivety to be as effective. Don’t blame them.
Jews who are identifiable or who want to congregate, for the time being, might be safer to be in Israel–not to blame Jews who don’t! We don’t blame victims and Jews should be free to live everywhere in safety.
If you must blame anyOne, blame G^d. He can take it. He knows regular blamers are in pain and need kindness, empathy and time. He knows that it will all end well, and if the end is well, all is well.
Last but not least, it’s not true that Jews are the People most to be pitied. We are the fortunate ones because we contribute to humanity, and we are not the perpetrators of the world’s greatest disasters. And we are the strongest, most enduring, eternal ones. All our enemies end up in the dustbin of history, and we persevere.
Without diminishing that over a dozen people were murdered at a Hanukkah party, let’s also remember that 2,000 other attendants survived! That’s a miracle. And so is a non-Jew who ran into the line of fine and wrestled the long gun from one of the two terrorists.

Like most of his readers, he believes in being friendly, respectful, and loyal. However, if you think those are his absolute top priorities, you might end up disappointed. His first loyalty is to the truth. He agrees that in a post-truth world, that's irrelevant, but then this is for the record. He will try to stay within the limits of democratic and Jewish law, but he won't lie to support opinions or people when don't deserve that. (Yet, we all make honest mistakes, which is just fine and does not justify losing support.) He admits that he sometimes exaggerates to make a point, which could have him come across as nasty, while in actuality, he's quite a lovely person to interact with. Chronologically, his most influential teachers are his parents, Nico (natan) van Zuiden and Betty (beisye) Nieweg, Wim Kan, Mozart, Harvey Jackins, Marshal Rosenberg, Reb Shlomo Carlebach, and, lehavdil bein chayim lechayim, Rabbi Dr. Natan Lopes Cardozo, Rav Zev Leff, and Rav Meir Lubin. This short list doesn't mean to disrespect others who taught him a lot or a little. One of his rabbis calls him Mr. Innovation [Ish haChidushim]. Yet, his originalities seem to root deeply in traditional Judaism, though they may grow in unexpected directions. In fact, he claims he's modernizing nothing. Rather, mainly basing himself on the basic Hebrew Torah text, he tries to rediscover classical Jewish thought almost lost in thousands of years of stifling Gentile domination and Jewish assimilation. (He pleads for a close reading of the Torah instead of going by rough assumptions of what it would probably mean and before fleeing to Commentaries.) This, in all aspects of life, but prominently in the areas of Free Will, Activism, Homosexuality for men, and Redemption. *
He hopes that his words will inspire and inform, and disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed. He aims to bring a fresh perspective rather than harp on the obvious and familiar. When he can, he loves to write encyclopedic overviews. He doesn't expect his readers to agree. Rather, original minds should be disputed. He is a fetal survivor of the pharmaceutical industry (https://diethylstilbestrol.co.uk/studies/des-and-psychological-health/), born in 1953 to his parents who were Dutch-Jewish Holocaust survivors who met in the largest concentration camp in the Netherlands, Westerbork. He grew up a humble listener. It took him decades to become a speaker too, and decades more to admit to being a genius. But his humility was his to keep. And so was his honesty.
