Parashat Bereshit: Focusing Easily on Life’s Infinite Goodness
After having written my two books which explain and express Jewish mysticism and Torah, I feel like I have so much to say on Parashat Bereshit, but will keep what I have to say to its essence, its elements ;). I present a reflection on this parasha about creating the most beauty and power from your own actions:
Personally, I have discovered that when I am working on my art, whether written or visual, I feel like it becomes powerful, and there is an immediate influx of other new positive events in my life. This happens especially when I write or create content with the simple intention to be myself and create good. In fact, I even create my own book covers with the intention that it will be a powerful affirmation for anyone who views them.
Parashat Bereshit is very much in line with these ideas.
God said, “Let there be light,” because God is light, and then God goes on to express the sefirot. These are the emanations of God in their order: water (the male side) and fire (the female side), which allows for water to split by wind and evaporation, enough for the earth to show through the physical (and thus, material) world. The sefirot are your essence.
The Torah doesn’t say why God created the world. Perhaps it implies seeking goodness and/or wanting to create something “in God’s image” with everything needed to support it. I feel that, like God’s creation, all of my art should create blessings by making people focus only on their deepest individual pleasures and giving energy only to favorable things. I actually put in a lot of effort in order to make sure it is all uplifting and reflects kabbalistic concepts, including in my analyses of biblical characters and my own fictional creations.
I am convinced that we can all experience pure peace in life.
In Bereshit, the beginning of the blueprint of the universe (Torah), God created not to heal or fix, but to see goodness and disseminate the Divine Image. Just decide it is all good and let your “you”-ness out into the universe, expecting to see infinite goodness. You don’t need to try and heal yourself or the world. You are already divine. You can always express this, with even the smallest choices to bring pleasant light and life to the world. God looked at each step of the divine work of Creation and decided it was good. There is a moment when you look at your own work and attribute the intention that it will bring good. God didn’t specify in what way Creation would be good because that way, the potential for blessing would be infinite. God didn’t focus on the form, but rather the identity of the elements.
You put the specific intentions in your life that you desire. If you have to focus on anything, it should be your “air” element, which is first the identity of anything.
For anything you desire, a simple thought is good enough because you are one with God. In Parashat Bereshit, God made simple declarations, and we can do likewise. For most things in your life, especially your creations, you don’t have to say in what way anything is good; just that it is good so that you will see the blessing as infinite. Doing this should become just a habit for you.
God’s creation begins using just speech. This is the wind element that interacts with the other classical elements: water, fire, and earth (as mentioned above).
I postulate in my work that the wind element can be the easiest and best to focus on, as it maintains inner balance. God’s perfection is already in place, and your heart will reveal it to you immediately. Our p’nimiyyut ha–lev (inner heart) reveals our truth, and we need to do more to cultivate a focus on it. Hearing the voice of your inner heart can be easy; again, just a habit. The more you intend to hear it and you say that it is easy to hear, the more you will feel like it is always connected to your mind through what makes you feel completely sensual (not necessarily sexual); completely one with all creation. That is why I suggest in my YouTube videos books that we should find the words that make us feel the most sensual (our creative divine “wind”) as an anchor in our minds to maintain a connection to not just the inner heart, but everything we desire, do, or have done. I have been following this practice that I invented for about four years. It is the best routine I have ever taken on because it maximizes and increases my creativity and energy.
Focusing on your wind element, which is Keter (identity in my interpretation), as well as deep will, (Tiferet/your inner heart), and Yesod (your deep beliefs which shape your life), is exactly the subject of my books. It is easy, because I put the intention that it would be.
I didn’t originally set out to create a book with this particular content. I just created what came naturally in order to express myself, as I attempt to always do. I put the intention that all the parts would evoke only goodness and All Ineffably Divine was the result. This kavvanah, (spiritual focus) is why there are many dimensions of goodness that the book keeps expressing.
Your inner heart knows your truth, so bring the focus back to your element of wind, air, and speech.
