Parashat Toldot

As Pisces in the womb-

Interlocked hand to foot

Aroil before the sun were

even on their eyes

Their first passage bourne

in waves without song

The moment of their arrival-

also the last time their bodies would touch;

In softness, blindly, in sweetness

Before the chasm-

of their lot unspools

Their robes darned

In the worried knots of familial love

and their lands sewn with a story

told in the womb
