Paul Marciano’s Philanthropic Ideals

FIDF
FIDF

Paul Marciano, a self-made fashion mogul who founded GUESS never forgot where he came from. His humble beginning encouraged him to donate even more to the charities that are close to his heart and even established a few.

Among his philanthropic endeavors are a number of organizations that do tremendous work:

FIDF

Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) is an amazing organization that was established in 1981 by a group of Holocaust survivors. The organization provides for wellbeing of the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

It especially runs a program called Lone Soldiers that supports the determined young men and women from all over the world who choose to leave the comfort of their homes and families to become IDF soldiers.

Lone Soldiers are the ones who have no immediate family in Israel, or a warm and loving place there to come home to. The Lone Soldier programs support these pioneers in service – they are dedicated Israel’s ‘ambassadors’. Moreover, the program assists them by helping them with the many challenges they face during their lives.

Marciano is the charismatic founder of the Guess fashion empire and also knows about the challenges of a successful career. His friends tell the story that he has a good heart and integrity and whatever gossip or obstacle he had to deal with in his public career, he always is a man of the people. An editor in chief recalls: Paul knows that he is a great story but is focused on being known for what he likes most. Helping others.

He and his family quietly gave 2.7 Million USD for the Israeli soldiers in need not for any attention, but coming from his heart.

Supporting IFDF means that Lone Soldier provides housing, mentoring, a 24-hour call center, financial grants, flights to visit their families abroad, Shabbat meals, holiday gift packages, social gatherings, and so much more. Lone Soldiers gives what comes closest to the warmth of home, and soldiers know that the FIDF family is by their side every day of the year.FIDF is known for its amazing Gala’s where a lot of Hollywood stars attend in support of FIDF and they raise millions of dollars for the cause.

The brothers established “The Maurice and Paul Marciano art foundation” in 2017 in LA. In grand building With 110,000 square feet over four floors, makes it almost as large as the Museum of Contemporary Art.

In order to grant the public access to art. Their collection from Latin American and Latino artists was growing they saw a real opportunity to support the initiative and to really highlight the work by some of these artists.

They are trying to communicate to the students who come through is the importance of showing a diverse collection and sharing viewpoints from around the world and showcase art they can relate to.

There main goal is to Make one of the world’s great contemporary art collections accessible to the public.  by opening up their collection to the public, It provides them a chance to display their contemporary art work. As well as a chance for all the artists to display their work, as it is their hope that the public will be inspired to appreciate and engage in the transformative power of contemporary art.
