So, what’s the verdict?
Did Iran suffer a definitive blow to their nuclear and ballistic power? Or not?
A leaked initial assessment from the Pentagon claims that Iran can renew its nuclear program in a matter of months.
Maybe. But even if this is so, will they? With no air defense, will they risk new strikes from Israel, and maybe from the US?
And, most importantly, they have been humiliated. Their morale is rock bottom.
Their proxies are basically gone. Top commanders and scientists dead. Their economy is in the dumps, and Europe is poised to enact snapback sanctions.
Trump has earned new respect from Europe and the world; his efforts to negotiate with Iran (to prevent the regime from ever having a nuclear weapon) will presumably have Europe’s full support.
And Israel stands tall before the eyes of the world. Israel surprised Iran with a stunning, precisely-coordinated attack.
Israel is on a roll. There seems to be no turning back.
As for Trump screaming at Netanyahu to stop Israel’s attack (which had been launched in response to Iran breaking the ceasefire) — Israel benefitted from this. Because it prevented further Iranian retaliatory missile strikes, thus allowing Israelis to finally relax, unwind, and get much-needed sleep and relief.
Imagine: Someone is hit, and as he prepares to strike the assailant back, he tells a fellow standing next to him, “Stop me, hold me back.”
Netanyahu felt he had to strike back. But what would have been the result? A full fledged fight. Meanwhile, the nuclear sites had already been bombed, and so many Iranian missile launchers and missiles had been destroyed. So what was there to gain by prolonging the fight?
When Trump told Netanyahu to stop, it ended up doing Israel a favor.
Everything happens by Divine providence. Many miraculous events are happening, and they wondrously interact. For example: Hezbollah’s downfall, leading to Assad’s downfall, leading to Iran’s inability to rearm Hezbollah, leading to Israel’s ability to attack Iran (without having to worry about Hezbollah shooting rockets to support Iran).
Can Iran renew its nuclear program? Perhaps. Will they? With Israel (and America’s) finger on the trigger — probably not.
The jury is still out. Time will tell. But at first glance, we are witnessing stunning miracles.
